"The Daddy" by Mark Chandaue is an incredible new book test with multiple methods, multiple revelations, and everything else you could want in a book designed and created by a working pro himself!
One of the key elements that sets this apart from other book tests is that asking for a specific letter is not part of the method!!
You've likely heard of "The Mother of All Book Tests"... Well, meet Daddy.
Mark designed this book from the ground up, and even went as far as writing the story within these pages so that everything is examinable and makes sense.
Watch the full review to learn more.
Available at Blackpool, as a Blackpool release; or from Mark himself. Also check in to Mindfx.com in the future as it'll likely be for sale there as well.

The downfall of so many booktests is the books don't look, read or even feel like real books. Mark has got everything from font to typesetting to paper stock absolutely spot on. And streamlined/improved many of the issues with things like the longword principle. Brilliant stuff!

Hi Chris. Thank you for a great review: thorough, thoughtful, informative, candid and enjoyable! I so appreciate all you do! I collect book tests and am very excited about this and your last review of Treasure Island. Your friend, David

My fav hands off book test (so far) is "The End", I only wish it had the flashback included as well. Josh Zandman has a series of books that all have the flashback, pegasus page AND tossed out book in each of them (i bought up 3, for repeat performances). Most book tests nowadays are in the $100 range.

Yeah the Zandman tests are great as well but I only have a couple of the older ones myself.

Can't go wrong with just Sherlock/gastby and Scarlett all under under $80 for both books

@@jaytpmc I think have the Sherlock book around here, but the others mentioned are my favourites.

I don’t disagree, and in all honesty there are methods and techniques to achieve similar results with completely ungimmicked books for completely impromptu performances. But some people like the option to work multiple routines, phases and presentations that are easily and very fairly achieved with all the different methods incorporated into a single book.

I was hoping you would review this as it sounded great when I first heard about it! I was wondering, do you prefer this book test or Treasure Island (for stage)? And then this book test or Frankenstein (for walk-around/strolling/non-stage)? Thanks for reviewing this one, hope you are keeping well!

I would say that the daddy would be best for walk around because of the size, but Frankenstein is also very good for walk around it’s just a little bigger but not much. Treasure island is best suited for stage being a hard cover and a larger book. But all 3 would work in any stage setting. It’s difficult to choose one over the other because they all have their strengths.

I would also add that the main Pegasus Page routine (there are two included) is a full stage performance piece that would play in full sized theatre.

@@markchandaue2218 Thanks Mark. Is there a performance of one/both of the Pegasus Page routines available?

@@jayplays568not currently. I should be able to get a performance of the version for couples when filming for the trailer. The stage version is a bit more challenging to get filmed.

I’ve seen a lot of other book tests and they don’t have as much as this does and actually costs more. I would imagine that the more you use it you’ll wind up memorizing the 9 words anyway. Thanks for the review
