Alex König I don't think robots will ever be fully capable of making these kinds of decisions because a robot or program are only as smart as the programmer, and a programmer would most likely program the robot to follow certain beliefs. Therefore, if there was a robot that chose to follow a religion, I would assume that its opinion is bias in that it only thinks what its programmer wants it to.

Well that's obviously not true... A robot is currently the best chess player and jeopardy player in the world. Better than any programmer.

The point is that the robot was programmed to be great at chess by processing different outcomes and possibilities base on the game. I wouldn't trust a robot's decision on religion because it would be programmed to think in a certain way.

I never said "There is no god" though. Atheism is the rejection or negation of theistic belief. A/An- is a preceding description notating negation to the word that comes after, which in this case is 'theism'. Theism is, if one chooses to dig a bit deeper, is a specific form of god-belief, to be exact, the god often found i Abrahamic religions. One that is a creator, has transcendental qualities such as omnipotence, omniscience, etc. A rejection of a belief is different from saying something isn't true. If you'd say "The great Tomala created the earth, he lives in the center of the earth, pulsating energy that keeps everything alive", I could say these two things. I could say "Tomala doesn't exist", or I could say "Your theory doesn't seem to have any evidential bearing. I reject your theory". One is a counter-claim that is also difficult to prove. The other one is simply a rejection because the theory simply isn't strong enough, in the same way I'd reject a theory about Norse or Greek mythology.
