My second animated adaption of the TV21 Comic strip, this depicts the struggle between the Daleks and the Robot Mechanoids. Created by Terry Nation as a rival to the Daleks, the Mechanoids appeared in the third Dalek story "The Chase" but their bulkiness precluded further TV appearances and the TV21 comic was their only further outing. This is based on 3 stories from the comic but expanded to depict full conflict between the species.

The golden Dalek in this vid should have appeared more in the televised Dalek stories.

This has everything - great music, a 70s Dalek and great 60s artwork ! I think Ron Turner is one of the artists here (as in thumbnail), don't know the one who does the acrylic paint visuals (but they did tons of artwork for World annuals back in the 60s).

This is an absolute gem! I always wanted to read the daleks comics but was never able to find any. This really gave me a flavour of them!

It is a darned shame the gold Dalek Emperor in this comic was never seen in the classic Dalek stories of Dr Who in billions of ways.

This reminds me of the 1962 cartoon Space Angel. That was the cartoon I seen in 1963 that was the thing that got me into Science Fiction.

Russell Devlin I jus randomly stumbled across your channel just searching for other things, but man this is an amazing channeL. As a fellow youtuber whose creative/with a huge imagination. Man this is one of the most impressive channels I've ever found. I'm a fan already, seriously I thought these were created by studios at first watch. U do an amazing job with these projects, & I'm putting u in my "Favorite channels aka Recommended chill spots section. Keep up the great wrk, I love your imagination. U don't see creativity that much these days anywhere, salute.

Hate to say, but I rushed out to order TV21 #1 and had a complete collection until.... 😔😪 Loved the Dalek tales on the back page. And, yes, I remember this story line.

The TV21 comics were the Mechanoids (or Mechons) last appearance until the Big Finish story "The Juggernauts" several years ago, anyway. A great adventure wherein we get Davros, the Daleks, and the Mechanoids all in the same story with Colin Baker's 6th Doctor.

I intend to do more in the future YT and will hopefully one day animate every adventure, and the Rust Plague is one I hope to do next year. There is also a fanmade CGI version of a few years back which is available on disk from its makers, though for some reason they only have clips on you tube

That is the Theme for "Moonbase 3" by Dudley Simpson, who was the main Dr Who Music provider pre 70's. MB3 was created by Pertwee Dr Who team Barry Letts & Terrance Dicks in 1973 as a neo-realist vision of life in space in the not too distant future, but the absence of outlandish space adventure led to its demise after only several episodes

Nice pointer to the fact Terry Nation tried to shoehorn them into later Blake's 7 teamed up with/controlling The Federation, but BBC apparently wouldn't allow.

Have done the first 4 stories in two new adventures and more are on the way . I had to use subtitles/comic captions for the voices due to Covid lockdown , but it still works

I really like the Dalek Emperor in the TV21 Comic strip being short in stature squat shaped with a dome shaped head and also its lovely colour gold with black sense globes and it was preferable to Davros the Dalek creator who was half Dalek and half human and not like the genuine Daleks and I preferred this version of Dalek to the Emperor Dalek seen in the TV story Evil of the Daleks . But the Dalek Emperor in Evil of the Daleks was preferable to that blasted Davros even though the Dalek Emperor in Evil was immobile unlike the Dalek Emperor in the TV21 Comic strip.It wa sa shame in millions and billions of ways that the Emperor Dalek in the TV21 Comic strip never appeared in the broadcast Dalek stories it would have been fun had that Dalek been seen in the television Dalek stories.

What effects were used to create the voices of 2K and the Mechanoids? I would like to use similar voices in my own work and would like to know how the voices were accomplished.

I use an prog called Goldwave to slow down, speed up and give voices a robot quality, though a lot of it actually is in the acting. You have to act it properly first before you robotise it, otherwise t just comes out fairly normal but nasal

Ron Turner was the one you mean I think (ink/wash technique) - he also inspired Chris Archileos on the early DW novelization covers, hence the weird shaped Daleks on the first Hartnell book.

i remember this .if memory serves the doctor allied with the mechanoids to stop the daleks' nefarious plan . they should bring them back . the daleks should defeat the doctor at least once, its gets a bit boring every time they come back on the telly

@ 1:37, a shame that the cartoonist didn't know that a Rel is a measurement of time, not speed, LOL! Still, not your fault. This is pretty well done, and the addition of audio makes it easier to watch than Beep the Meep's comic adaptations, though he has a TON of them, since how he does it is so much faster than this is. Paranoia beam, eh? Is THAT what's wrong with the people in the Qanon cult‽ They were trying to aim at the Daleks and missed with one of the beams‽‽ It all makes sense, now!! Hey, it really _would_ make sense to explain why some idjit would start randomly believing in Jewish space lasers. There can't be THAT many brain-damaged individuals in politics, can there? CAN THERE‽‽‽ Leaving a like and comment for the care and feeding of the Almighty Algorithm! ❤️❤️
