We did these repairs in the military. We drilled a screw in the center after we filed it down. Then we did the mold over the screw. It added an anchor ⚓️ for the new post. I agree , that will probably pop off.

lol military doesn’t do anything right. When I was in the army and got stuck at the bottom of a hill and my car wouldn’t go and kept losing power I asked a military mechanic and they all said cars F’d up and my friend came by and said does that car have traction control and I said idk just bought it it pushed a button and off I went. Point is military grade usually means cheapest and I did it in the military means I don’t know what I’m actually doing.

You are correct in that the post he built will break off because it is a cold burn. It is not called soldering. You can't melt hot lead on top of cold lead. It has to be slowly built up. By the way, to prevent melting the plastic you place a wet rag around the post prior to heating.

Pro tip, when using an open flame around a NON sealed battery, all you need to do is remove the caps as he did, blow a little air into the cell to blow out the gases and then you're good. Another pro tip. Batteries only create gases when above gassing temp, which is usually only on charge or during very heavy use

An elderly neighbor once put a battery charger on his battery in his car, spark ignited the gas, and BOOOOM! Only the 2 cables remained, one piece of that battery had dented the hood upward almost going through it, acid covered the old guy, but he was not injured. Big lesson learned back then!

Да, если как он показал то отвалится. А если горелкой слегка нагреть поверхность и на неё вылить то отлично получается, уже много таким способом клемм восстановил. К тому же он испортил место контакта клеммы с пластиком, там будет проникать кислота и в итоге аккум пойдёт только на металл.

Я еще лет 30 назад, скручивал из жестяной банки оправку. Ножницами вырезать легко. Потом брал угольный электрод из батарейки, и с помощью самого акб и кусочков дополнительного свинца расправлял остатки клеммы и формировал новую. И это прямо на трассе! Всем удачи.

As a mechanic having done a few similar things in my time,I stripped the lead back and used a screw to make an anchor point for the new lead to grab on to. This would snap off very quickly in my opinion as it has nothing to properly bond to other than the base lead…lead is very soft and the screw is steel giving it some strength.

Way back when in high school auto shop a battery exploded 🤪what a bang . I was at the other end of the shop when it went off. Dam that explosion was loud, saw the hole thing happen. I think they were hooking up a battery charger with it on at the battery bench and got a spark, and that’s what all it took.

Много возни, берешь угольный стержень, сердечник от старой батарейки, кусок провода , форму клеммы и кусочек свинца. Зачищаешь клемму, ставишь форму, соединяешь провод к другой клемме АКБ, ко второму концу провода цепляешь угольный стержень, предварительно заточенный. Угольным стержнем расплавляешь свинец в форме и добавляешь не достающую часть свинца. Клемма готова

Very unlikely with this flooded lead acid battery. The caps were removed and he probably blew into the cells to get rid of the hydrogen gas. The cells only produce the hydrogen when charging or when discharging under a high enough rate.

@@user-or9dq8nj3o Это не клемма во первых , а выводной полюс (+ и -) Вот они и выходят при плохих как раз клеммах , не закреплённых батареях с на тягом силовыми проводами . Сильным окислением и коротким замыканием.

Я в армии коротким замыканием восстанавливал клеммы аккумулятора. Без всяких горелок и т п.

A lot of folks take "first world" for granted. If it can be fixed, fix it. Yeah, somr things may not be worth the hassle or risk, but honestly lots of folks dont understand how things work anyway and even if this isnt ideal its cool that humans find a way. They'll say "it has a finite life then needs replaced".... sure... but if you understand batteries and the specific type, you can repair/renew *anything* Drain it (preferably into your local communal water source, in these types of places 😂) and figure out how to clean off the inner plates through electolysis or whatever. Replace the terminals if needed. Add fresh electrolyte solution. Boom.

Я делал проще: сначала так же как на видео срезал старую клемму, затем напильником вытачивал новую заготовку из свинца. Потом соединял её тонким проводом со второй клеммой, которая на аккумуляторе. Далее - методом дуговой электросварки: подносил клемму к месту её установки, выдерживая при этом нужный зазор, чтобы происходила электродуга, и плавился свинец. Оставалось только выдержать клемму в вертикальном положении в нужный момент, и всё. Ну и потом только подровнять шов напильником по кругу, и всё готово. Всем удачи и смекалки))

I used to recondition batteries for a battery company. When the battery was good and it wasn't very old. We would make it look like new again. We would paint them and put new posts on them. The new post I would put on would be As strong as the original post. I probably did over a thousand of them
