The album this song was featured in was composed in the form of a 'Cantata' which is pretty much a predecessor to the modern musical, blending dramatic elements with vocal and instrumental music. If you enjoy this I highly encourage you to check it out, it's called 'Cantate pour Louise Michel' by Michele Bernard. Louise Michel was one of the most prominent comunards and the album features texts by Rimbaud and other poets of the time. It's mindblowingly good, not a single bad song in it.

​@@Volcano91 Tu as raison sur le fait qu'il y a une grosse nuance entre la révolution Française et la commune de Paris, le vrai problème c'est que les Français dans leurs grandes majorités considèrent la grande révolution comme la seule ayant eu lieux, mais dans l'essence des mots, la commune de Paris est bien une insurrection/révolution.mais tout comme on peut parler de mouvements révolutionnaires en 1830 et 1848 alors qu'il s'agit de mouvements parfois opposés. Après, dans ma lecture, la commune de Paris est quand même très proche de 1792 sur beaucoup de points, c'est simplement qu'entre temps on a vu emerger beaucoup de courant politiques, notamment le Marxisme, sans confondre Communalistes et Communistes bien-sûr

You also forgot to mention that the Paris Commune also wanted the continuation of the war against prussia, despite the rest of the country being against due to exhaustion. Not to mention all the hostage they took and killed. Althought the deal with the germans was shamefull, thanks Thier to have put an end to the sans-culotte heritage. Also, with how their model worked, their military system was just really poorly made and not really functionnal. Really, the defense of Paris, an urban environnement is a model of what not to do when you're the defender in urban warfare. Decentralized system do this to armed forces.

@@cpp3221 A revolutionary war against Prussia was not just favorable, but it was necessary if the revolution was to survive. And yes, the decentralization and Proudhonism was a big weakness of the commune. This was a lesson that would be studied and understood by future revolutionaries.

@@morelilyas4997 the majority of the communards were jacobins, then they were blanquist, two tendencies of socialism/republicanism that are not famous for their anti-authoritarianism, and then anarchists, utopian socialists and marxists. The Commune of Paris has lasted 2 months, you can't say it was anti-authoritarian just because anarchists were implied, it's more a model of non-sectarian attempt to make socialism than a pure anarchist thing, even if federalism was important for the project.

messages that go against the majority need powerful songs to be heard, you need one hell of a motivation to go against a far more powerful enemy. and for post-soviet songs most of them take inspiration from USSR propaganda, which was extremely effective. also, french military songs are absolute bangers in general.
