THE NEW RESISTANCE is an intimate look at the ballsy new wave of activists who are disrupting politics and tearing up the rule book about how to change the world.
In Berlin, Anuna De Wever and fellow climate change activists prepare for an important face-to-face meeting with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel. They hope to convince her not to sign a trade agreement with South American countries that would hurt the Amazon forest and push climate change to the top of her political Agenda.
In Tennessee, social justice activist Kennedy Green and her group Teens4Equality join a Women’s March through the streets of Nashville in a show of solidarity. Afterward they discuss how they need to work on growing their organization.
On the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, Indigenous climate activist Tokata Iron Eyes struggles to balance her personal goals and schoolwork while continuing the fight for Indigenous rights and land back.
Refugee rights activist Mohamad Al Jounde travels to his University to share a virtual screening of his documentary about womens’ role in the Syrian revolution. But news of an explosion in Lebanon leaves him uncertain about the fate of the school he started there for Syrian refugees.

I feel like this generation is finally taking these topics mainstream…when I went vegan in 2011 people still thought it was a radical fringe thing or I was “the environmentalist” for bringing reusable things. They know its about more than individual action. Im so so happy they are using their youth to keep pressure on!

I grew up as a consumer and it sucks. Consumption kills our planet and all the living beings. Consumption drains your creativity, you just become a passive eater. You “eat” things. I am an older adult and still trying to find ways to express myself in ways other than consuming things. I’m glad to see that young people learn to live with no need of consuming. I’m grateful. I am inspired. I can keep the good fight myself too.

Great that these kids care about the world and want to make it better, wish there was more programming like this vs. rachet reality.

I appreciate the strength and honesty these kids had when sharing the good bad and the ugly or trying to organize for change during a pandemic. Great to watch youth in action, I wish the politicians would step up and follow their lead.

I’m just scared. Scared our world is gonna end with all the things going on. It feels like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. Like I’m responsible for everyone’s problems. And I’m just a kid. It’s hard.

It will end. That's why you need to give your hear, mind and soul . To Jesus Chris. Before it's to late. This world is not the end of life . Please read your bible. Only telling you out of love.

... in 19 years there won't be any permanent ice on our world. Please listen to this generation. I know it's too late but it doesn't mean we can't make it easier on the planet and the future homo sapiens but we will be the way of the non-avian dinosaurs in my lifetime.

What these people are doing is amazing and I think most young people are more aware of social issues than other generations. I do think that it's very different for developing countries. Obviously the issues brought up in this video like climate change is relevant in developing countries but many of these issues are secondary issues. Like I can't focus on being vegan and and environment if I'm trying to be alive and to have something to eat. Just a thought. Fight for what you believe to make the world better and to save our world.

It is not irreversible. We have the technology. What we lack is a concerted effort by politicians and major businesses.

This isn’t a resistance. This is young people with way too much time on their hands and easy access to communicate globally. Force them into a job, take away their cellphone and internet, and they are nothing.

@@kwakoushakur1391 We live in the least "screwed up" period in human history. Everything is so convenient and easy that even the slightest inconvenience is seen as the end of the world. Grow up.
