You should look into a gun called the SKS

AK-47 came from AK-46 and AS-44 . Both Gun took features from STG-44 , M1 Garand, M1 Carbine , SVT-40 , SKS and Remington model 08.

Nyet, rife is fine! If you wanted to just copy Stg-44 in a new Caliber, why redesign? Also there were several Pre AK and Stg automatic rifle, look up the Fedorov Avtomat, it was an early automatic rifle.

I will also point out GERMANY copied STEN guns. 9×19mm MP 3008 was a STEN clone.

The Fedorov was a crew-served machine rifle

Instead of blatantly stealing content (in a manner that certainly isn't transformative), you could at least credit the creators.

Yes it was obviously a copy, the AK 47 and the STG-44 look very much alike. However the Soviets may have copied it but they heavilly improved on it , made it more robust and rugged , easier to manufacture in large quantities, more user friendly. easier to maintain.

The Stg-44 used a blowback mechanism (using the recoil to load the next round), while the AK 47 used a gas presure mechanism (using the gas presure of the round to reload, like a M1 Garand or AR 15). Thier mechanisms are compleatly different from eachother, making them compleatly different rifiles.

Go read mikhail's book about the AK, he clearly states multiple times that he was inpired by the M1 Garand, not the Sturmgewher 44.
