My favorite Gungan is the bounty hunter Gungan from The Force Unleashed. "Yoosa gonna diiee... Jedi..." He was actually cool.

All gungans have those eyes. So if one of them was a sith you'd never be able to tell the difference.

Ironically, the Trade Federation's B1 battle droids looked somewhat similar to Gungan skeletons, thus accidentally inciting a whole different fear in the Gungan population of Naboo

So you begin the film with this big space scene where a small ship enters a big ship and its crew are all captured and killed, except for a pair of particularly sneaky rebels who manage to escape to the planet below with a vital message and important plan. They meet up with one of the native population in order to make contact with their target, who later proves themselves repeatedly in the heat of battle and is lauded as a hero.

I always love the unique architectural style and culture of the gungans. They muster and marches from the swamp, their underwater cities, their shields and plasma ball. It is so authentic. Still hate jar-jar tho, couldn’t figure out why they made him a general.

The mere fact that the quote on quote the “Good Guys” as mere cannon fodder in the Battle of Naboo, and that was supposing a kid movie by both critics and audience. The Gungans were mistreated by the Human population of Naboo for centuries in the legends timeline, and during the Galactic Empire they pretty much the punching bag for Palpatine evil plans for it. Considering that Episode one shows this hatred between the Humans and Gungans, it showed a trend that the prequel trilogy would follow in the form of politics.
