Today's video is a Part II of my Secrets of Galar Theory Series! In this episode, BirdKeeperToby and I discuss the deeper lore and connections between Eternatus and other regions. The Darkest Day in Galar might just be the Darkest Day of Pokémon History! See how the events of AZ's Ultimate Weapon are likely related to the Darkest Day in Galar!
Hope you're enjoying my theories! They are super fun to make and I plan on continuing these! Let me know wheat kinds of theories you want to see me cover next!

As Galar and Kalos are based on Brittain and France, respectively, it only makes sense to align with their real life rivalry. France and England have ALWAYS butted heads, but one of the most notable is the Anglo-French War, which while not 3 thousand years ago (Was 3 hundred years ago though) was also ended, with a French victory, and a treaty of peace, similarly to what one would expect the Kalos-Galarian war would have. I'm starting to see all the lines the devs are making, intentional or not. But I could TOTALLY see a HEAVY rpg, with story focus and voices, the whole shebang, depicting the Heroes of Truth and Ideals of Unova, who may have in fact been from Galar, and their fight against Kalos. And how the brother's differing ideals would cause them to split from each other, in turn causing one to create Galar, and the other to go found, or rebel, in Unova.

20,000 years ago, when Eternatus crashed onto Earth, life came about in the forms of Sigilyph, Golett & Golurk, as well as Baltoy & Claydol. I find it interesting that these five Pokémon share a typing that is super-effective against Eternatus. Just an observation.

I have to disagree about Kalos fighting Eternatus. It seems like Generations and the games have almost explicitly stated that the battle in Kalos was between trainers and th their Pokémon. However, I still think that the Ultimate Weapon was responsible for the Darkest Day. I think it’s possible Galar might have been involved in the Kalos war, and the Ultimate Weapon may have struck Eternatus. I think that Dynamax energy is a “corruption” of Infinity Energy, which is why it’s similar but not exactly like Dynamax energy. Like the ultimate weapon struck Eternatus and made it go crazy, which is why it caused the Darkest Day. What if the reason it’s called “Eternatus” is because it has died and been brought back so many times? It’s partially a combination of “eternal” and “Thanatos,” Greek god of death after all. Also, the Pokédex states that Eternatus fell in a meteor. Why would one of Arceus “Thousand Arms” be in such an “unholy” place? Is it possible it was already dead? Also also, I think the fact that what looks like a black hole forms over Dynamax pokemon, and we’ve had multiple kinds of energy spewing worm/black holes appear in Pokémon, bears more investigation.

I like your ideas around Eternatus already being dead! Great catch. If you're interested in the blackholes/wormholes aspect, I did a Science of Ultra Wormholes theory video on my channel you can check out. As for the war between trainers and their Pokémon, you miiiiight have to check out what I have to say on that in Part III and especially Part IV of this theory. Would love the highlighted evidence of the battles between trainers and their Pokémon, as that might actually turn out to be vital evidence for the future theories ;)

@@AlmightyArceus In the Generations episode "the Redemption," depictions of the Kalos war show battles between Pokemon like Golurk, Rhyperior, Salamence, etc. Which implies it was between rival factions or another region's Pokemon trainers. Also you mentioned that part III is partially about Zacian and Zamazenta. I have a tip for you. There's this symbol on the shrine in the Slumbering Weald that appears in all of the depictions of Zacian and Zamazenta in game... the Stow-On-Side statues, the banner in the Circhester restaurant, the Circhester Baths, and of course on the shrine. (Here's a link from Serebii of the gravesite www.serebii.net/pokearth/galar/slumberingweald.shtml#xy-gravesite) I couldn't figure out what it was, but then I found out about the "sacred spiral." Apparently, along with spirals in general, it represents the forces of the universe at work... the passage of time, the forces of nature... the "*dynamic* aspect of things." It also just so happens that it resembles the swirly representation of the Dynamax storm shown in the Turffield Geoglyph... and in turn, resembles the spiral of a galaxy or universe... which Eternatus' Eternamax form also resembles, when viewed from its top. There's also the Triskelion, an ancient symbol resembling three spirals connected to each other. It's had many meanings, some being religious... and in some ways is a Celtic symbol, used by cultures living on the Isle of Man... which is near Britain... and is the inspiration for the Isle of Armor. Hmmm... a connection between three spirals... Sword and Shield has three main legendary Pokemon... Oh yeah. This goes pretty deep.

Mega Evolution... Dynamax... Both allowing specific Pokémon to change form temporarily, both form of energy and more. The only difference between the two is one require a keystone and mega while the other is raw power and dynamax band that has wish star.

Definitely! In Part I of this theory, which you can find on my channel, I talk about how Mega Stones are kind of concentrated ingots of Infinity Energy. Little pockets of Infinity Energy from the ultimate weapon that are specific to individual Pokemon. Dynamax energy is just that energy in the raw: impure, flowing throughout the Galar region from Eternatus!

Using the Dex entry about Arceus' 1000 arms, and the assumption that Eternatus is one of them, I have a theory that we have already met another one of them in the past. The idea in particular that I'd consider is Necrozma. (Ima use one of HoopsandHipHop's top ten facts from his Necrozma video. Credits to him.) His name derives from "Necro," or death, and "Ozma," which was a study in 1960 about extraterrestrial life. The death probably is used to associate with the darkness that he brings from absorbing light, or possibly Infinity Energy. Sogaleo and Lunala are probably beings of (maybe) Infinity Energy from the suns and moons across space. And they can harness this to tap into Wormhole travel and such. Then in this case, this is why Necrozma can absorb them, this is because Necrozma is the "arm" that is capable of absorbing/eating away at Infinity Energy. This would mean that Z-Crystals are a form of Infinity Energy such as Mega Stones are. This would be the "energy infusion" that is required to achieve it's Ultimate form, just like Eternamax Eternatus. Now, Ima pull from some of Necrozma's various dex entries. What I've gotten from them is that Necrozma, just like Eternatus, was hibernating for a very long time. However, what was different in this particular case is that Necrozma was never actually on the Pokemon World until the events of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon when it came in search for more light to absorb. Also a quick thing to mention, Eternatus does also use lasers as it's way of fighting, just like Eternatus. And in the case of Ultra Necrozma, when he's in that Ultimate form, the energy pouring off of it affects living things and nature in various ways. Now we didn't get to see in what ways it can do such a thing, but the fact that Dex entries mention it is curious. So that's my theory. I believe that Ultra Necrozma was indeed one of Arceus' 1000 arms. Please comment on anything you'd like to add, or if you disagree with! I'd really appreciate any feedback. This theory series seems really awesome so far! It makes a whole lotta sense, and I couldn't help but put in my own little mix of things. (Side note, the Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma are only triggered by Colress, thus it is something they can't naturally do. I wanted to mention that because I wrote about it in the theory.)
@harikiran4339

I thought necrozma is more of the armour. With eternus being a tail and the fabric being held together by unknown. So we could say that the real Arceus broke itself down into the current one. But at that time the newly formed Arceus made giratina, dialga and palkia and the rest is history. With the rest of severed parts falling at different times through rifts and stuff. Later we can say Arceus decides to not interfere with all the anamoly. I mean there r multiple Arceus that found if we consider the branches formed through the rifts of void. So we can say we don't know the true form of Arceus. Similar to kyurem. A spec just for fun. Peace out ✌️...

@@harikiran4339 I like that idea! and also the word "arms" from the dex entry could relate to soldier at "arms" rather than literal arms. So either of our theories would work perfectly! Necrozma definitely has some kind of relation to Arceus.

First, your theory; plus BirdkeeperToby support; They are awesome - they just blew my mind and created new connections that I propose here to you: - I still think that the reference to the thousands of arms that Arceus used for creation refers to the Unown. However, Eternatus resemblance to this it’s too much. Perhaps Arceus somehow with the help of the Unown created Eternatus for some specific role in the lore; like “the hand of creation” or it just was a prisioner of giratina for some reason … and upon seeing Eternatus interact with the unknow, the ancient people thought that there would be more of these appendages. Perhaps Eternatus is King Unown, or de original father of them. It may be Eternatus was a race of space Pokémon that Arceus used to help him create reality; and their offspring are the unown. Or just maybe the unown has nothing to do with eternatus but the big red dot in the center of that hand catches my eye. - It could be that in the process of creation, the ultra-entities emerged as natural creatures from the same ancient space; including Eternatus and Necrozma, without the participation of Arceus. Which then for some reason will go to the pokémon planet to attack it. They are Ultra Beasts, not Pokémon, and Arceus allegedly created only Pokémon. - The similarity of the changing forms closely resembles the effect Giratina undergoes when passing from its dimension to ours; additionally this also creates a dark cloud when appearing; something as if Giratina and Eternatus were connected. Adding the ability to distort space time as Giratina. - Additionally, when Pokémon perform mega-evolutions, they create a carapace similar, although different in color, to the one where Eternatus was sleeping and from where he was released: a symmetrical sphere that cracks. - It could be that as you argue that in mega-evolution it is an incomplete dynamax changing only its shape, creating a sphere similar to eternatus. While the Giga-max being the same phenomenon, it is more complete. However, the question remains why one boosts more attack statistics while in the dyna-max HP is boosted, although the change of some attack statistics according to the giga-max also occurs. A function could then be added to reduce the giga-max to simple mega-evolutions; and then implementing additional items; as "earth of the distortion world" to convert a mega-evolution into a giga-max form. - The arrival of Eternatus on the planet 20, 000 years ago pokémon could have caused the destruction of the fossil pokémon, as well as the dynamax of those that survived, who after returning to their normal state were simply extinguished due to lack of prey or other things like that. This added perhaps to an arrival of the ultra-beasts that perhaps could also suffer from giga-max caused Arceus to appear and battle these giants, and originate the mythology that they say on the plates that he defeated the titans: ultra necrozma giga- max, giga-guzzlord, omastar and Tyrantrum giga-max; and even the battle of the primeval Hoen trio could have happened at that moment and was captured by the population of that time. In this time, people survive helped by the idols turns to Pokémon like Claydol, Sigilyph among others, that would have been created by overflowing infinite energy, or aided by the unown. - Also during that battle the Arceus plates store part of that infinite energy that he obtained during the previous battle, which is similar to the Z crystals that the guardians give away, which would allow the development of the Z attacks later to allow the protection of nature with these. - During the arrival of eternatus 20,000 years ago he was defeated by the all-powerful Arceus. The Eternatus resurrection 3,000 years ago, caused by the weapon, occurred when Arceus was resting so he could not do anything. This reminds me of the story that was shown during the beginning of the movie 5 - Heroes in its original version; where at the beginning Latios and Latias are shown fighting with a darkness that began to expand towards Hoen, and these are rescued by humans creating the soul dew. This is proof that humans were already on earth when eternatus woke up again. Without Arceus to defend themselves, perhaps they turned again to the unown, who managed to energize the new human-made idols into pokémon to help people to survive the giant pokémon created by eternatus: Stonjourner, among others. Due to a new material discovered by man they would create a new totem: "meltan". In galar, the Eternatus attack caught them off guard and thanks to an artificial pokemon produced by the unown and the humans of kalos; Meltan, and his evolution Melmetal, who would give a shield and a sword to Zacian and Zamazenta, which would change their shape and give them the power to defeat Eternatus once again. - And yes, the unown seem to only release their power when they are before a creative entity; like Arceus and ... humans. Another interesting fact. - The flowers of time, as shown in movie 8; which created crystals capable of retaining lucario like poke-ball, grew in a volcanic zone. Perhaps the apricorn could be brought to that state by subjecting it to a baking process. The red ray is perhaps a process by which infinite energy manifests as it compresses or expands; just like releasing a pokémon a blue light manifests as when the flower of time held and released lucario. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aNhhobNzzrK5foU.html (Latios and latias history erased from American movies; use english translated subs) PS:This must be the most vague and long comment of all, my apologies. I don't know if you've read this on Toby's Melmetal video or if you've speculated about this already, but I thought that I might share this thought with you in case it helps in any way: In addition to the Relic Crown and other Relic items, perhaps Meltan and Melmetal forged the Rusted Sword of Zacian, the Rusted Shield of Zamazenta, as well as the GS Ball. Perhaps these Steel-type Pokémon are the Greatest Smiths of the GS Ball.

Arceus! I know you’re probably miles away from making a video on it, but Crown Tundra gave us the answers we needed on so many things! Spoilers for people that haven’t played it yet: Eternatus is partially based on the legend of Uther Pendragon, from the King Arthur mythos. He witnessed a “dragon shaped comet” and made it his standard, like how Eternatus was a dragon that landed on earth as a comet and releases comet-like wishing stars. But who was the actual Uther Pendragon equivalent? Well, one of Calyrex’s Pokédex entries talk about how it used it’s psychic powers to save an entire forest of Pokémon from “a meteor strike.” And Calyrex is literally “the king Pokémon,” and Uther Pendragon was a long. AND, one of the lore tablets found in the tundra mentions that when it first encountered people in ancient times, they found it injured. Why? I think it fought Eternatus. This is supported by the fact that when Calyrex Dynamaxes, it doesn’t have the red aura and clouds every other Pokémon does when it dynamaxes. It turns blue, and has the same Dynamax effects, but all with a blue coloration. Not only does this connect to the classic “red and blue” dynamic, but it suggests that it creates its own unique Dynamax energy rather than using the Dynamax energy found everywhere in the Galar region. This implies a connection and a direct opposition to Eternatus. More evidence? Well, another Pokédex entry for Calyrex says that it moved an entire forest overnight using its powers. This has to be the same forest that it saved from the meteor strike. The recurrence of this suggests that this forest is important, and isn’t just something thrown in to flesh out its powers. There is a forest near the Crown Tundra though... one deeply tied to the history of the Galar Region, and the Darkest Day - the Slumbering Weald. It’s out of place, isn’t it? And why are Zacian and Zamazenta there? You’d think that the ancient saviors of the Galar region would have ended up closer to Hammerlocke, or the other ancient towns in the region. I think it is the forest that Calyrex moved with its powers. This goes to something I’ve been wrestling with for a while - what created Zacian and Zamazenta? Because their proximity to humans, and their abilities suggest their legendary status was a result of some kind of magical tampering. Something interesting is that, Zacian is associated with blue, and Zamazenta is associated with red. Not only that, but they radiate energies of those colors when they battle. Red and blue are colors that the whole legendary trio of Galar shares, including Eternatus. But Zacian and Zamazenta are individually associated with blue and red specifically. Why? I think that they lived in the slumbering Weald when Eternatus first came to earth. And either then, or during the first Darkest Day, Calyrex moved the forest and all the Pokémon in it... except for the two legendary wolves. When the King Pokémon fought the Gigantic Pokémon, Zacian and Zamazenta were bathed in the red and blue Dynamax energy produced by the conflict, and given their powers. All of the Pokémon involved retreated, but Calyrex lost more and more of its power by the time the next arrival of Eternatus occurred. But then Zacian and Zamazenta became the heroes of the region and battled Eternatus during the Darkest Day. There’s a type of myth, “the Chaoskampf,” in which a hero or god must battle a serpentine draconian beast in order to save the world... and the possible battle between Calyrex, Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus perfectly fits the bill. I know this isn’t perfect, but I think it gets us so many steps closer to what really happened during the Darkest Day...

I'm more familiar with the "Lightning God vs Sea Dragon" version of Chaoscampf, but Galar's more medieval than Bronze/Iron age, so it makes sense that it would be the "hero knight" trope instead. Not sure if I'm sold on all this, but it's a brilliant bit of insight.

About the ultimate weapon energy hitting Kalos, FRANCE (KALOS) IS NEAR ENGLAND (GALAR) GEOGRAPHICALLY!!!!!!!! Also if Necrozma and Eternatus are hands of Arceus, that potentially means that Arceus's new form could be a potential Giganta-Megamax form with a Z-move. This could've been used to shape the universe, with its immense power. This power would also effectively make it the most powerful being, making it god like.

And then there is other universes and dimenesions, when all of those are from the same Arceus induced big bang then the whole light energy of Alola is the same thing? The Eternatus encountered within Sword and Shield CANNOT be the same one that caused the original Darkest Day, as it was still buried incredibly deep, not under Hammerlocke, which is a far ways away from any of the mines, but somewhere else before being shipped to Hammerlocke for easier testing. That means there must be another Eternatus somewhere else in the Pokemon world. Eternatus is a nuclear reactor, the deadly radiation being represented by its poison type, radiation causing creatures to get really big tying it even closer to Godzilla. Another Pokemon based on a nuclear reactor who is also a dragon is the original Kyurem, before being split into the several different dragons, with Reshiram being the heat produced, Zekrom the electricity, and Kyurem the coolant need to prevent a meltdown. Kyurem Prime is tied to the first king of Unova, and thus to the Relic Crown, an item which dates to 3,000 years ago, the same time as the first Darkest Day. If Kyurem Prime/First Eternatus was taken from Galar to Unova, that would correlate with the British colonizing America and taking a bunch of things there with them. That's how the Relic Crown ties in to all the "3,000 years ago" things.

Cause if so pretty much all of Galarian culture would have been lost because they were dying in war in another country and being attacked at home... This theory makes the history deadly for Galar, other than that, I like it.

I have an important question. How did Az make the ultimate weapon? How did he harness that amount of infinity energy, and constructed that massive thing to wield it? It makes sense if the war was between Galar and Kalos then he shot it and it woke up Eternatus etc. But what if it was the other way around? And by that I mean, what if instead of Eternatus woke up by the weapon, the weapon was made because of Eternatus? We've seen there are a lot of castles around Kalos, a fight for power among themselves is possible and the graves of the pokemon killed by the weapon are in Kalos. We talked about Melmetal and it's g-max was also around 3000 years ago, but not his roll. It might be possible it helped him build it, and it's pokedex said it could make metal from nothing, making it perfect to make something so big! And what if it was Eternatus that powered the weapon and it was something else that woke him up? The ultimate weapon was built on the furthest west part of Kalos, supposedly the closest part of the map to Galar. When the darkest day struck, it may have struck the opportunity needed for Az to bring back his pokemon when otherwise he would have been left to mourn. Sorry if I sound a bit all over the place with this. I hope I made sense.

Maybe if he was one of the kings in Galar originally, he created the ultimate weapon using wishing stars from Eternatus. Maybe the Ultimate Weapon didn’t create Eternatus... maybe Eternatus created the ultimate weapon.

What if, and i know this might be a stretch. Giratina and Eternatus IMO seem way to similar. Giratina was banished to the Distortion World for being bad/evil or aggressive. I've seen many theories on Eternatus being a 1000th hand or a corrupted hand of Arceus. That being said what if they are in it together. Much like the Lugia with the bird trio being apart of each other, and Regigigas and the golem trio, well since there is five of them more so. That's If Giratina is bad mind you. If GIratina is bad, it could have corrupted the 1000th hand of Arceus. When Arceus found out about this corruption banishing Giratina to the Distortion World. Putting a stop to whatever Giratina had planned, and deeming Eternatus as an outcast sending it to Earth. Eternatus is full or made up of Infinity Energy, that much is clear. Especially with its move Dynomax Cannon. The crash 20k years ago brought to life Claydol. To me that rings a bell. Now with AZ firing the Ultimate Weapon 3000 years ago. That might have woken Eternatus up. Not the other way around, and its been stated in the game I believe that Kalos and Galar are within swimming distance. Firing a weapon with that much power and energy probably woke Eternatus up to begin the darkest day, initiating Giratinas plan to overthrow Arceus. Though with no Giratina around since it's still banished at the time Eternatus couldn't succeed in a 1v2 against Zacian and Zamazenta. Pokemon with G-Max potential in the Pokemon World probably have huge advantages over Others like Legendary Pokemon ie: Arceus. Not in the game no, as it just gives the Dynamax'd and G-Max'd mons more HP and Stronger moves. Arceus is strong, and we all know that. In the movie The Jewel of Life. Arceus is only one type at any giving time not two. Same as in the game. so with a large amount of Pokemon blasting it with all sorts of moves would render Arceus useless basically. Look at how powerful Hoopa Unbound was in It's movie. Redirecting attacks left and right, and bringing fourth the primals ect. Eternatus's Eternomax form is one of if not the strongest Pokemon to ever be in the Pokemon World. Maybe well see something of this magnitude in the DPP remakes. I personally want to see a darker side to Giratina or maybe a link between the two. Of course that's a stretch and I know that. Giratina using a hand of a god to create an army of powerful mons to overthrow it? Sounds like it could be plausible. Hopefully it makes to you guys or see where Im coming from. Thanks for the Video!

Also the theory about Eternatus being one of Arceus's one thousand arms kinda does make sense, but I believe in the theory that his thousand arms (a metaphor) are the Unown, because they can live in space and other dimensions as seen in the Darkrai movie, when they gather they can bring things to live and even build solid matter as seen in the Spell of the Unown movie and they are seen circling Arceus both in the manga and the HG/SS event when Arceus creates an egg for the player.

Quite interesting theory, makes a lot of sense. I’ve been re-watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood lately and this made think a lot of things. FMAB mentions alchemy and alkahestry, and they’re very similar, but different at the same time. Pokémon definitely has tons of connections to alchemy, makes me wonder if they have some connection to alkahestry as well. I’m FMAB alchemy is using the “tectonic movement” force, while alkahestry is the channeling of natural energy. One thing I believed have heard from Lockstin, and also briefly by TruGreen7, is the topic of the “Philosopher’s Stone.” What if the Mega Evolution stones are actually philosopher stones? They’re basically made out of lives/souls of Pokémon, just like on FMAB. And with that being the case… we might have to consider the ethics of using said stones to gain power… aren’t users of those stones “evil” in a way? Also, if I recall correctly, the end of FMA touches some topic of a world without alchemy and the world with alchemy… kinda similar to the concept of a timeline with mega evolution and one without. Lots of ideas come to mind with all these findings, hope I was able to express them in a coherent way.

I disagree that Eternatus was reawakened from the beam from the Ultimate Weapon. I think Eternatus IS the ultimate weapon. Heres my reasoning. We know Eternatus gives lifeforce or Gigantamax energy to other pokemon. We also see the ultimate weapon do the same thing (as well as Xerneas). Not only do we see the Ultimate weapon give energy but take away energy or the life force of pokemon (like what we see Yveltal do in the form of a red beam). Eternatus has both destructive power (because it's a infinite power source with a laserbeam) and the power to give gigantamax energy or lifeforce energy to pokemon. BUT in order for it to be awakened it needed a outside source of energy. What better source of energy than the souls of the pokemon? I know the laser beam from the ultimate weapon in your theory awakens Eternatus but what if the literal beam itself is the aftermath of AZ's reworking of the "machine." And what if the weapon used missed Galar and hit a little closer to home. Like say Anistar city? That would explain the Sundial and it's link to Mega Stones. But after the beam hit Anistar city the newly revived Eternatus reigned supreme until Zamazenta, Zacian, and the princes took it down in Galar. Also what "Machine" would have had the power to take the life force of pokemon 3,000 years ago? It would make more sense if the machine was actually a pokemon. This brings me into my second theory that Xerneas and Yveltal are husks of Eternatus. Yes, I know it is a horrible theory but what if they were created when the ultimate weapon or Eternatus was awakened. Lysandre uses Yveltal or Xerneas to power the ultimate weapon and if my previous theory was correct that would mean that Yveltal and Xerneas have a major share of it's power/and or was a part of Eternatus at one point or time. Anyways this comment took way too long to type up. Hope you at least consider this possibility.

I think Lysandre also mentioned how the weapon wouldn't work the way he wants it to. And I also think he mentioned how he was missing an essential part.

What of ultrabeasts were created in a universe were infinity energy caused the darkest day and all pokemon and humans were wiped out but after millions of years ultrabeasts arose from the ashes. And stongerner is really the 1st Ultra beast ever made. Human genes were combined with pokemon genes and thats why ultrabeasts look humanoid. So Ultrabeast have the urge to undo the darkest day so they came back to the past through ulta worm holes.

I feel like while they are gods they aren't true gods because the fact they run out of energy and can be beaten in their fullest form along with the fact the probably would be true is that if the ultra games were made after swsh you could probably catch them in ultra space so I think that Ultra Necrozma could be the true God because it can travel through dimensions that have their own gods and in none of them do you find necrozma along with the fact that it's basically the god of light and light exists almost everywhere so that's pretty powerful. Also, the Ultra form is just its most basic form because that's just its base form, not its final form we just can't access it because its true form is ultra necrozma I said true, not final because in nature it should be in its ultra form , not the dark form
