To fix sniping the lobby timers, they could just keep the rotations the way they are but remove the actual timers so it's harder to snipe. Also vary between 3 min and like 4 min etc to make it harder to time yourself.

100% agree on self found. I also think casuals would like it more. I’ve tried getting new players into the game and as we know it’s tough. Something new players understand is blue/purple is good. Even when it’s not good. And those new players will have a much better experience if they can actually use the cool items they find. Unlike in norms. And they don’t have to worry about getting rolled by any player that has a few thousand gold on an optimized kit.

no casuals would get farmed on repeat. the people who try are going to die a lot less and always have better gear. I get your issue is about new players and what to do with the gear, but this is not the answer for that issue. I do think SSF is a cool idea but more as a LTM then a fulltime thing. Even as its own mode its cool just a issue with adding more queues

self found sounds like an awesome idea with a larger player base. been playing since test 2 or 3, me and the boys stopped high roller specifically because of the min max. at least if people found that min max gear i wouldnt feel like I got cheated because i dont have 20k to spend on a kit

The big takeaway here is that they have no clue how to use the test environment, and because of this, they wasted a lot of time. I really enjoyed multiclassing, but I agree it wasn't perfect. As a FromSoftware PvP player, I don't care about class identity or knowing what to expect in a fight. However, in its current implementation, it was creating less build variety than before, with a majority of people running Sprint, Iron Will, etc. One of the biggest issues, though, was the lack of build restrictions. What makes creating a build in FromSoftware games fun is designing a class within a certain level range, which usually forces you to focus on stats, items, and abilities that synergize, rather than just taking the most meta items. I think locking abilities, items, and skills behind attributes could be a potential way to balance multiclassing. For instance, you can take Iron Will, but if you have less than 25 Will, it doesn't work. You would need to build your kit around a specific attribute if you wanted a particular multiclass ability. This would prevent people from picking the best item from each class and would also encourage them to consider other gear stats besides just damage. But now, since they released it to live servers after barely a week of testing, the community will always have a negative reaction to it, and it will likely be remembered as something that wasted the developers' time.

ive been saying to my buddy that i play the game with that itd be cool to have a hub like lobby where the boys could hang out and test their gear and damage all that. instead of strictly in the pregame lobby. thank you throwing out that idea out there soma!!!

Multiclassing would have been fine if everything was nerfed when multiclassing. Say everything had 50% effeciency. Sprint only giving 25 speed, double jump being -36 speed. Smite doing 5 damage instead of 10. Slayer increased by 2.5. Iron Will 50 magic resist. Would prevent stuff being OP and still perhaps could be fun.

@1:33:06 talking about weapon impacts and blocking. I love the idea but I also want to remind folk that rapiers are NOT light weapons. they weigh as much or mor than a falchion or arming sword, often times more in fact. they are narrow but THICK. No, they don't have the impact power of a pole weapon but they are quite sturdy. I also would want to have the impact power of a weapon increase as you go closer to the hands kind of inverse to the sweet spot damage mechanic we already have. because that is how they work IRL that way you can block an attack very close to the hilt of your sword and swing THROUGH the attack and still hit your opponent. maybe they can calculate a lesser amount of damage that way maybe that's asking too much but it is how it really works and DaD already has such a great start on believable weapon play. I would love to see that enhanced. as a swordsmith I deeply enjoy the believability of the game's fighting already, but it could be so much more.

An idea on making bis less problematic… gear can’t have phys power And dmg bonus, if roll x then roll from d-z stats not dmg bonus… balances how multi rolls Can be together. Also can choose which stats roll on what armor??? Make it fun around gear and makes gear not worth picking up/trying 50%+ of the time.

What I am hoping the multi class thing did is show what people were really wanting on each class. If everyone was running sprint it shows those classes need more speed. Or, like if warlocks are taking advanced healer and over healing for TM builds then they are looking for more ways to run blood magic and keep their HP up. Slayer and dual wielding shows we want more options to actually use two weapons (i would really like to see taking two weapons be more then just a stat stick) So ultimately I am hoping that there is some kind of skill tree, but that it is more then just starting current skills lower and being able to upgrade them. I want to see some new skills you can unlock over time that are still unique to the class. Take warlock for example. Rather then just making CoP do more damage or heal better with TM maybe it can bounce from target to target or you can create a cursed zone on the ground. That said I would like to see some way to actually multi class and get some of the abilities from say one other class rather then mixing all classes and perhaps not as strong as the base version, but it would need some better way to know at least what class you are pulling from if not the skill itself. For example taking a cleric perk might have a holy symbol hanging from their belt that glows in a way that you can notice it just looking at them, or a tome from wizard skills, and so on. Gear already shows its quality level but it is super subtle and hard to notice (think it should be a bit easer to tell)

Make a third attribute for loot, sold. Anything with sold attribute would not be able to be used in self found lobby.

If they add in the swap stance mechanic, they should make it so the person has a stronger stance and a weaker stance. You could choose the strong stance in character creation.

What do you guys think of the idea of making a complete randomised map (make every module connectable to each other) instead of crypts 1-6. Also randomising the mobs in each room. That way you wouldnt be able to open the map on your second monitor. Every Dungeon run would have to be done with extra care because you dont know the map and dont know wich mobs to excpect. 🧐

I don’t think Multi-classing should return until you can cast spells with a bow as a wizard/ranger hybrid. These are the sorts of things they need to implement; whole new playstyles and fantasies. Not the current system of tossing around perks in a modular manner. I’m talking a goblin mage form you’d get from Druid/Wizard. Spells that can mimic a variety of sounds/traps from a distance on a Rogue/Wizard. Anyone who loves class-based RPG’s reading this comment probably had their own hybrid idea pop into their head; there is no shortage of inspiration for a system like this. No class identity is miffed, only more are created. Combine this with a subclass system, and force players to choose between hybridizing their starting class, or specializing in it. This will create varied, exciting options for players. Add on a profession system, and this game has all the character progression it needs for a long time. I enjoyed this test, but I hope they dedicate the time and resources to a fleshed out hybridized class system. It’s time to start reaching higher up on the tree for fruit.

Instead of multi-class, they should have started with dual-classing first, test the water so to speak, sure you will get a lot of peeps combining fighter to get swift etc, but then they couldnt take the barb abilities etc

2 weeks of every start of season is solo self found. that no longer splits the playerbase. after 2 weeks marketplace unlocks

27:30 I don't dislike the idea Darren suggested. Last wipe I played SSF to demi on my barb and this wipe I have a level 176 Warlock SSF. While the game feels more rewarding (and also absolutely impossible sometimes); there would need to be quite a bit of work to make it run smoothly. It would also add more queues if you divide SSF and traders up. I would love if IM looked into SSF though and came up with some QoL for it.

What if we added two more perk slots to every class. And ALSO, add and 3rd skill slot for ULTIMATE skills. Longer cooldowns, and you don’t spawn with the ultimate, it would charge up over time in raid. Maybe 2-3 uses of an Ultimate skill per raid. Then make it to where ULTIMATE skills CANT be multiclassed. Could help reinforce class identity

Also THEY NEED TO GIVE BARD A USEFUL 2nd SKILL. WERE BACKED INTO USING 2x MUSIC MEMORY EVEN IN SOLOS WHEN ITS USELESS. 90% of bards skills and perks are mid.

Feinting alone will not make the game like mordhau. The game is too slow for it to be as high skill as mordhau. Mordhau also has like 4 or 5 mechanics that aren’t In darker that allow for that high skill cap, and you advocated for 3/4 o them to be added. Mordhau has chambering, which you said would be cool. Mordhau has directional blocking with the weapon, mordhau also has directional swinging, which I would say adds to the skill cap more than feints you advocated for a simplified version to be added. Mordhau also has parrying and Stan e changing. Adding feinting alone will not make the game on par with mordhau, chivalry 2 has many of the same mechanics and isn’t even as sweaty as mordhau. The real thing that makes mordhau sweaty is not just the variety of mechanics, but the speed of gameplay the movement techs are what really separate the sweat lords from the casual players, it’s the drag attacks and leaning to duck under swings or leaning into the player so you hit them the moment the weapon swing starts these are harder to do in darker because the game is slower.

CONTENT. Got Demi and now I don't even touch the game. This game is very addictive and I do love it but at the same time they need to focus on content and the loop of the game, taking MC out will give back class identity but now we have one less feature in a already bare bones experience.

The funny thing is, you just sat here and vocally said what's wrong with the game taht you're excited to mess with: BUFFBALL Druid. Buffball is a HUGE issue. It's ridiculous to go against a team who is buffed out of their mind. Which yes, they brought the classes to do it. But buffs NEED a limit on how many are active. PLain and simple. It's too fucking much to go against teams that are stacked on buff while you have 1 or 2 going

Multiclassing was a fun experiment but it just doesn’t fit with the games design and architecture. Maybe it would work with limitations such as only being to subclass into one other character or limiting stacking on damage / resistance perks, but that’s entirely up to the dev team in the end

I agree with Jay on the Druid transformation shit. Although shapeshifting can be a cool fit in a fantasy game, I dont feel they executed it very well. The bear especially just looks like a normal ass brown bear from discovery channel.. Look at Diablo 2 bear form compared to this and see what a properly executed bear shapeshift looks like in a fantasy setting.
