It's the final GaMetal song of 2018, so let's take on The Darkest Lord from Miitopia!
There were so many songs I could've done for the 2018 finale, but I settled on this one because it's awesome, was one of the top 3 requests from the 2019 GaMetal Song Ballot pre-closing (tonight by the way), and something not TOO complicated so I could have complete in time before the year ends.
Even though I say 'not too complicated', this is still a complex composition in it's own right. It has several different sections and doesn't hit a repeat point (in the original) till almost 4 minutes in, which is pretty long for a game song. Because of this, I also kept this down to just the First Phase, since the Second Phase sounds completely different and would probably be better as it's own song (maybe sometime later!).

Miitopia is my Fav RPG. I love the idea of customizing your own Miis and sending them on a grand journey. Plz make a Switch port Nintendo. You would make a lot of money porting over to switch considering that it has been rated the best DS turn base RPG.

Everything about the Darkest Lord is just so- extra- and I love it. Every single attack in all three phases has such a ridiculous animation, and the added emotional weight of this boss being the Great Sage, someone you probably picked as a person you look up to or considered great makes the fight even more special The person I made the Great Sage is actually pretty firmly in the moral middle ground so they worked quite well as the Darkest Lord lmao.

I made the Great Sage my twin Brother. (But I also had my Brother on my team, so I had to play around with the makeup and wigs) but my brother has always been better than me at video games, and immediately wanted to make him Great Sage, just like I did on 3DS. On a side note how cool would it be if we could unlock a Great Sage Job for our party?

It should definitely get a sequel on the switch. Or a remake. Or both. At this point, I'll take a new Mii game of any kind. Heck, Having a Mii represent your account isn't even mandatory anymore. I sure hope Miis don't die out or something. I've always liked customizable characters.

Randomness Productions yeah, so far smash is the only game to use them at all. I hope we see some sort of mii based game soon (i don't think "switch party",or "switch music" works) and hopefully on a level of complexity as miitopia or nintendo land.

@@CosmicToad5000 Yeah, I'm pretty sure MK8 Deluxe uses them too, but just like Smash, they're kind of just there because it would be weird if they weren't, considering Miis were in MK8 original and Smash 4. Nintendo Land definitely was fun, but Miitopia was my favorite in my personal opinion. You kind of get to make your own story, you know? But anything else would still be cool. Would a nintendo land-type game utilize the different ways you can play the Switch?

@@spindash64 That's pretty cool! It reminds me of something another commenter said (forgot who). He said that he saw the new jobs he got each time the Dark Lord sealed his powers as him finding new ways to defeat him each time. Learns magic to fight the Dark Lord, gets sealed. Then attempts to use science instead, gets sealed. And then him becoming a Tank was him becoming mechanized to become strong again. Also, my third class was a mage. It actually became my new favorite!

The pressure is never off in this song I love it the only thing is I have to delete my savefile again to here it in context miitopia is just the most underrated Rpg of 2017 it's a beautiful game with a soundtrack worth remembering and a cast of characters that you'll personally remember I love miitopia and this song reminds me of all of this I love everything about the game apart from how Late the last party member comes in

I'm so glad you did a cover of this song. I've had the Dark Lord Battle theme on my request list for so long, but I'm totally okay with this as well. Miitopia has such an underrated soundtrack, and this is definitely a highlight of the game. Happy 2019 Jonny! That next song will be a... BLAST
