Alright hello today i will be talking about an infamous tom & Jerry Cartoon which i watched when i was a young boy. It delves into serious topics such as depression, suicide and alcoholism. So be warned if you are sensitive to these topics.

I remember seeing this for the first time as a child and finding it so jarring. The narration used to upset me the most, it just sounds so sullen and defeated. But this episode did teach me a very important lesson. Drinking an excessive amount of milk does NOT make you drunk, you will just puke and get yelled at by your mum...

Yeah it's a completely different tone compared to the usual tom and jerry cartoons. I didn't really understand the idea of depression back than or why tom was sitting on the railway tracks. It also doesn't really feel like jerry's typical voice. Which makes me think this is an alternate universe tom and jerry, especially since he said they are friends in this universe. Well that's where you went wrong. You can't just have straight milk. You got to go with choccy milk.

Yeah it is definitely not the usual Tom & Jerry cartoon and probably would have preferred to have had a much happier ending with the female cat and her lover getting their comeuppance but i suppose it was to give out a message about how life can suddenly turn for the worse. Ironically i can remember some of the other Tom & Jerry cartoons from those clips beforehand. Tom went through various character changes and was even known as Jasper in the first ever cartoon as far as i know.

Yeah it has a very sullen tone throughout. With Jerry's commentary. At some point you expect it will kick into the usual tom and jerry shenanagins but it just ends up with a really sad ending. I would say the message is a very mixed one. It almost gives off the idea that it's ok to give up. Because of a lover you lost. But yes like a lot of cartoon characters, they didn't start off with the names they ended up with. I think Jerry went unnamed for a while before they decided on tom and jerry for them both. But yeah i may do more videos on tom and jerry and you might see more ones you have seen.

You need to steady on with your milk addiction. It starts of with semi skimmed than whole milk. Next you will be onto some bizarre concoctions like banana milk.
