We are on the verge of a new era that belongs to Superhumans. The next step of our evolution is not going to be natural but rather a technological one. Superhumans will most likely dominate the 21st century.
Throughout history, the discussion of superhuman traits and the idea of the ideal human in physical, mental, or psychological form has influenced our thoughts and understanding of the world and the reality that surrounds us. While the concept of superpowers is still firmly rooted in the world of fiction, recent scientific and technological advancements have put the concept of "Superhumans" in a very different context.
The rise of "Superhumans" in the scientific and technological world has brought about an entirely new kind of discussion on who we are as a species. While the idea of a superhuman may be provocative and controversial to some, others embrace the concept as a means to investigate our future - our evolution.
In the future, thanks to technologies such as CRISPR, it would be possible to alter the human genome in such a way that every human being could be born with a genetic predisposition to a greater degree of strength, intelligence, speed and so on. The rise of enhanced humans could bring about a new era of human evolution. This would have profound advantages over traditional genetic mutations that occur in nature. First, it would allow researchers to control what kind of changes they made and how those changes would affect an individual's physical and psychological development.
How will this technology affect us as a society? Will it be abused? Who will benefit from this technology?
Will those who don’t have access to the technology be left behind in a society where they are no longer able to keep up? Questions like these have many people worried about the future, but it is undeniable that we are on the verge of a new era of evolution in which humans will be able to increase their intelligence and capabilities beyond imagination.

Sarif was right about one thing. It's in our nature to want to rise above our limits. Think about it. We were cold, so we harnessed fire. We were weak, so we invented tools. Every time we met an obstacle, we used creativity and ingenuity to overcome it. The cycle is inevitable... but will the outcome always be good? I guess that will depend on how we approach it. These past few months, I was challenged many times, but more often than not, didn't I try to keep morality in mind, knowing that my actions didn't have to harm others? Time and time again, didn't I resist the urge to abuse power and resources simply to achieve my goals more swiftly? In the past, we've had to compensate for weaknesses, finding quick solutions that only benefit a few. But what if we never need to feel weak or morally conflicted again? What if the path Sarif wants us to take enables us to hold on to higher values with more stability? One thing is obvious. For the first time in history, we have a chance to steal fire from the gods. To turn away from it now - to stop pursing a future in which technology and biology combine, leading to the promise of a Singularity - would mean to deny the very essence of who we are. No doubt the road to get there will be bumpy, hurting some people along the way. But won't achieving the dream be worth it? We can become the gods we've always been striving to be. Here in the super wealthy are ignorant and superstitious. They are against public education and only want to set up private parochial schools for their spoiled rotten rich brats! Here is an interesting little fact ... way back in the 12 century, the Royal classes were illiterate. They believed that being able to read and write was manual labor, thus beneith their dignaty. Only those in the clergy were scholars. I think in was a similar situation that eventually led to the fall of Greek and Roman society. There were natural philosophers, (scientists) like Archimedes who did experiments and Eratosthenes who calculated the size of the earth and Aristarchus, who long before Copernicus and Galileo, proposed that the earth and planets revolved around the sun and that the stars were distance Suns with their own planetary systems. Oh, but doing experiments and going out and taking actual measurements is manual labor. Aristotle and Plato were high society while the real scientists engaged in their "manual labors" were considered no better than slaves. So now, in 21st century America, we have multimillionares and billionaires who want to shut down public education and are against teaching evolution and we have wealthy Pat Robertson who believes that MS is caused by demon possession. I have known people with MS and Parkinson's disease. No, America is run by rich people who believe that the earth is only 6000 years old, that a man was made from dirt, a woman from a dirty rib, and that snakes and donkeys can talk. You think that only the super wealthy deserve all these benefits? Give it to some kid from a poor family who likes to spend his time in the public libraries, that the wealthy elite would like to see shut down! The rich can go fuck themselves!

Many ideologs in the comment section. A lot of unanswered questions, yes. So many things we don't know. But we will learn a lot in the process. Ideology won't help. Don't assume. The problem is that we are really really stupid. We think we are smart because we compare ourselves to animals. But our cognitive capacities are quite small when compared to the capacity to fully understand reality. The plan here is to evolve ourselves. In our current state we are clearly very lackluster. One way or another, as long as it is possible, it is inevitable. And the superior species will prevail.

It's like the atomic bomb. It was the wrong thing to do, but we made it either way. And despite everyone denounce the production, the possession of such weapons, everyone have that technology at hand. And if they can use it, they definitely will do it. Now, genetics aren't different. Americans and western civilization discuss if we should use such technology, but countries like China are already researching the same thing and are experiment it in our life time. The rules of escalation says that in order to not give the enemy a significative advantage over you, you have to make that step forward first. So it means that if we won't be outclassed by the Chinese or someone else, we have to do it. And privates wants to sell a lot of this stuff. Governments wants super citizens able to work more, produce more and being less dependent on Healthcare system. Stuff like that is gold for modern states. It gives tons of advantages if correctly used. Not to mention of course the military research and consequences. Strongest armies, faster, more intelligent, more lethal and precise, less civil casualties, etc. Again gold. Basically we are pushing forward our own outclassment due to our evolutionary necessities. One day these superhuman will be a thing and since they will be far more smarter and stronger than us, it would be checkmate for Homo Sapiens and a easy win for the next human species. Even our AIs would probably be outdated and outclassed by them. But I frankly doubt they will ever be "evil" in any way or form. Being the most powerful means fear no one. If you don't fear anyone they you have no reason to be angry, scared or aggressive. Maybe disappointed but... Disappointment don't leads to disastrous consequences. We could possibly hope for a good future even if these superhuman will take over the planet. And that's a real Sci-fi scenario far from what reality would really looks like.

I love the question " will it be abused?" U really have to ask this question? Governments as we speak are probably already designing a super hacking human who can bring their enemies to their knees or at the very least designing a super soldier type . What would be a useful thing to do would be to create a super human who can figure out a way to get us off thus planet and into space travel . But we as humans as so damn narrow minded, that'll never happen as we'll try to subjugate the rest of humanity to our whims and desires which will result in limiting the technology.
