Many people who commented here were not born earlier to know about MKO. He was brilliant and generous but not innocent by a long mile. In fact, he was part of the first generation of Nigerian elites to pilfer the nation's coffers through his military connections. PTT contract in 1971 through Muritala ( Minster of Telecom) and then ITT inflated contract earned him $100m (N80 million) in 1975. This led to a massive investigation that saw the NET building set ablaze. The top floors that were affected housed the accounting facilities where most of the records were kept. Highly respected and clearly won the elections, and while I won't rule out foul play, I also believe Karma caught up with him. I'm Yoruba but just keeping it 100.

... late Fela wrote songs about this man yet people glorify him, even named a national holiday after him... what was his contributions to national democracy ? If not to cement his wealth acquisition stance by becoming president. A man fighting for his own agenda.

You know very well the animosity that exists between YORUBAs and HAUSA-FULANI. Take responsibility for your wrong doings instead of shifting them to others. I watched this before, however, without any emotional attachment or sentiments, what I can say considering the Major's background as Military Intelligence Officer, returned to the country from training via diplomatic route. He understood the issues at stake. His account seem very well prepared and delivered. No rambling or beating about the bush, answered every questions with little or no room for unnecessary further probing.

He has been poisoned before meeting with those American delegations It didn't happened at that meeting, And I also think the Army listen to his last conversation with his Family who might have told him of how people are coming to see him from America to negotiate his release All in all the military will never let Abiola to leave the detention alive because he must have learnt some dealings of the Military while in custody and will eventually go after them when released having already threatened them earlier before his arrest. May his soul rest in peace but shouldn't have joined Politics had he knows

There is saying that Any country that let America into their internal affairs will never know Peace again e.g Ukraine. It wasn’t a coincidence that MKO died during America’s visit and this intelligence agent guy was flew to America after the incident. Note he was the one that picked sat beside MKO in the car. He was a CIA asset. America only fight for its interest. Democracy is just a Cover for its hegemony policy. You can also look more into how America train these coup plotters all over Africa.

MKO was a political martyr who died for his right to be sworn in as the rightful leader of Nigeria. He committed no sin to deserve a long stretch in prison hence his martyrdom. The ex-Chief Security Officer to General Abubakar meticulously recounted the sad events leading to the tragic passing of Chief Abiola. That MKO Abiola died during the brief stint of General Abdusalami Abubakar was very unfortunate because it is the only dent on his otherwise impeccable record as one of only two military leaders in Nigeria (apart from Obasanjo) who voluntarily handed over power to a civilian authority.

I'm a trained psychologist, body language reader and physiological changes in body metabolism signals. Looking at the fulani so called CSO to Abdul Salami Abubakar confession at Oputa panel, the truth that Chief M.K.O Abiola was gassed and poisoned is glaring. Yoruba had a very good opportunity to declare Oduduwa republic after that. Their claims that Olusegun Obasanjo choise to replace Abiola as a Yoruba tribal Nigeria president is a show of cowardice. Oodua can never be a free independent nation, they 're now caught in the British/Islamic terrorist WEB as Nigerians forever. Sorry for the exposure
