On this day in 1992 Eric Cantona signed for Manchester United. To celebrate the anniversary of Eric Cantona's arrival at Old Trafford, we bring you a look at the reaction from fans, Alex Ferguson and Cantona himself on the day of the signing.
He was without question one of Sir Alex Ferguson shrewdest signings as United boss. Cantona cost just £1.2m from Leeds, inspiring the club to four Premier League titles and creating some magical moments in the famous No 7 shirt.

What a strange set of events to set Man U into the future. Dublin leg break, Hirst stays at Wednesday - Cantona might never have moved to United. And Fergie might not have built that first dynasty and be out of a job.

@@chipsthedog1and in terms of numbers. Eric racked up 125 G/A in 156 Premier League games. The 7th highest ratio of all time, only behind Haaland, Henry, Suarez, Salah, Aguero and Kane, and Eric was never an out and out striker, yet, still a goal creating machine.

Wow, David Hirst could've played for ManUtd. Ferguson attempted to sign him SIX times. Hirst rejected them and now his career was so insignificant compared to what it could've been that he doesn't even have a careers statistics page on Wikipedia lol And he won as much as Robbie Savage but at least Savage didn't reject ManUtd.
