In 2019 at Wimbledon, Roger Federer turned back the clock at the age of 37 to produce a masterful performance. Despite not winning the whole tournament, he still produced matches like this one where he looked unstoppable. In this match, a future finalist in Matteo Berrettini is unable to deal with Federer's grass prowess. Hope you enjoy!

For many Federer fans, the 2011 US Open semis, and the '19 Wimbledon final, especially the latter, will always be matches that Roger should have simply won- period! There have been others, for sure: The '05 AO semis loss to Safin! The '08 Wimbledon final loss to Nadal! The '09 AO final loss to Nadal! The '09 USO final loss to Delpo! The '10 USO semis loss to Djoker! The '11 FO final loss to Nadal! The '18 Wimbledon QF loss to Anderson!...But none of these quite burns like the other 2! The '19 match, though, was a final, in which his 9th Wimbledon title was there for the taking! You could taste it! It seemed almost a given; he played well enough to earn it, had beaten Rafa in the semis, and closing the deal on his 21st GS, at almost 38, appeared almost as a scripted dream!...Then,...the bottom just gave way!... The dream suddenly revealed itself to be a disguised and ever present nightmare! Brutal!

I remember this match. Federer basically played Berrittini short balls and Berrittini kept hitting unforced errors because he didn't know what to do with them. Over so quick.

@@TheseHoesAreLoyal And then flopped at all the critical moments. He was 2 points from winning the first set I think like 5 times. Set point on the 3rd, MP in the 5th and still lost. He had so many other opportunities besides the match points in the 5th set. Did not use his opportunities vs Novak. But he did vs Matteo. 6/7 on BP and match over in under 75 minutes. @@J_NoNamesLeft73 Yup, not failing to convert break chance opportunities is also an indicator of a player's skill. Clearly Federer's mental game against Djokovic fails misreably, and that's a huge part of the game.

@@SHVideografie "Could have easily ended up with 25 slams under his belt" That sort of thought is meaningless because "if" doesn't exist. Like I said, mental fortitude is a huge part of the game. Federer was good enough to win 20 majors, nothing more or less. Stop trying to ride his meat.

Generation...Nadal and Djokovic are 4/5 years younger, that is generational gap in tennis. Federer did start in a (completely) different era when looking at courts, balls, rackets, techniques. Federer completely dismantled his own generation and kept the next one(s) including those other two at bay for another 15 years.
