To tell them apart XJ6 and XJ8 aside of strait 6 and V8, is the Indicators on the bumper is rectangle for XJ6 and Oval for XJ8. This would apply from 1996 and after.

Man, I got the xj8 for only 800. It's a 98 model, 73k miles and near mint condition minus the paint needing a buff job on top. I had to go through the bore wash issue for a few weeks where the car sat for 5 years, And now its solid! Replaced the fuel pump, plugs, and fluids. LOVE THIS CAR! Still gotta figure out some small issues with the fuel pressure but other than that, Best car I've had! And the front is just so beautiful man, Like I was gonna sell mine too but i couldn't do it. It's just a well sculpted car! Too nice.

The little plug by the gas cap pulls out and has slots so you can wash the trash out! I have this car, and I just use high pressure hose to knock trash outa gas area

I think the chrome rims of that style are rare. Most are polished aluminum if I’m not mistaken. I own a 95 & a 96 XJ6. Beautiful cars. Always sucks about the rust issues. Very common. Got yourself a great deal, hope you made some profit on your sale.

Just got myself a 1995 XJ6, it was in storage for the last 6 years and failed to start, so the owner sold it to me for $500 if I took care of towing it out of his storage garage. Turned out the issue was a faulty crank position sensor. Can't wait to get out on the road enjoying the space, pace, and grace!
