This the day I have been looking forward to for a long time. I’ve been doing maintenance and repairs in the dirt and rocks since I started excavation work. Well, that is coming to an end!!! This is video #1 of the shop build. Come along for the journey as we build this thing…

Wow! Just no telling what will happen! Just before the chain let go I said to myself, Self that will be bad if that chain comes loose! HE GONE! Loving the JCB Hog for sure...

@@tristardiggin yessir I can agree on the bad feeling. Had an episode last week where I almost rolled my skid while trying to dump a huge stump. Picked it up fine but when I went to raise it up into the truck, yep you guessed it, NOSE DIVE! Made me go change my panties for a lack of better way of putting it!😄😯😲😳🥺

@tristardiggin that's awesome , thank you and thank you Lord . Man I tell you , your channel means a lot to me . Wasn't long ago , just a few years where I started serving the Lord but there is one verse that really changed my life and helped my walk . It humbled me really , to the point where I could love my enemies . It's 1st Timothy Chapter 1 verse 15 . I read that verse like I wrote that verse . I told my preacher about it, and he said the Lord gave me a "rhema" word . Never heard that term before but that's what it was . Pretty special, and thank you for sharing the word us

Hi Sam..The pad sure is taking Shape, I did pucker up when I saw you run after the tractor..When I was a kid , My Grandpa would have wore me out for that. Lol ! Nice catch tough 😃.. Nice stuff, as usual. I had to do the same for a drainage issue for my building. Hoping you can get that old tractor running again. I'm certain there's good memories connected to it Good save on that tractor. I would never have jumped on it like that because I'm certain it would have rolled over me😅

Right, drainage work is something that constantly needs work. There are a lot of memories with that tractor for sure. Questionable decision to chase it down but it worked out good... Thanks, Sam

Hey Sam, to deal with the barrels of water or diesel/water mix, if you are keeping them under roof just remove/prop open some the lids and the water will evaporate and you can recycle any sludge or unusable diesel that’s left. It will take some time but truly the easiest way

Sounds good thanks. I figure the sludge will eventually all fall to the bottom. Will double filter it at some point when it looks cleaner.

Thank you Jay, I appreciate that and glad you are enjoying the videos and especially the message. I don’t use the F350 much but it is handy at times. I mainly keep it around because I just like the old square body Fords, plus it has the 7.3 turbo. 😁

Thanks Nate! I agree the 308 and the JCB pair real well. I think it's like 14 scoops to fill it, if I remember right. And it was pretty cool to use it on the shop pad...

I know you are tickled to have started on your shop. Even though mine is not finished, it has already been nice to keep stuff dry and to be able to work out of the direct sunlight. My shell is finished, but I need to pour the floor, insulate it, and wire it. I can't wait to be finished with it and to be able to work inside whether it rains or not, hot or cold. I'm too old for that stuff anymore. Lol. Great message and video my friend.

If the diesel fuel doesn’t separate it’s always good for burn piles and less risky in expensive fuel systems and filters

Right, I'm sure there is probably an additive I could mix in it to drop the sediment out of it. Or at least there should be 🤔. If not I will let it set for a good while and set up a double filter system when I pump it out into another storage tank. Then it will get filtered again before going in the equipment tanks...

Right, this was off road fuel so its a bit less expensive. With tax it was like 2.99 delivered. But a lot better than what it was last year.

Why not bbuild the shhop in the back portion of the barn? Then you would have an outside area to work on with cover overhead?

I went with 6" but it turned out to be more like 6.5" with fiber and livestock panels as wire inside the concrete.

I did think about, for a split second, climbing on the back. But for some reason figured a side horse mount was a better option 🤔. You ain't kidding! That 313 would look sweet loading the Hog. 😁 Thanks...

how much did the concrete guy quote you to do that job? and how much did he quote you to do the job after you told him you would do all that prep work? just curious as im trying to build a barn soon too

I figure I saved around 8k getting the pad ready myself. The next video shows finishing the dirt work and putting the rock and wire in the pad ready for pouring. They charge for labor whatever the concrete costs...I work with him on other jobs so he already knew I was doing the prep work...

sorry, but I laughed when that chain came off the tractor and you took off running. Glad you caught it. It was on its own path to destruction until you stepped in to stop it. Just like the message. We can try to do stuff on our own, but it seldom works. We have to turn it over to God. Listen to what he is saying and then do it.

@@tristardiggin yeah it is. We hit a spot like that the other day. It was only like 15 feet and then went right back to garbage rock with koolaid dust powder in it lol. We were all in awe of the good dirt over nice clay.
