when i join a pvp server to test out how ppl would react to my hospital ship , there was this damn guy with his 8 shredders trying to destroy my ship . i obviously lost and had to reload it over and over again . some jets fought back but they lost and had to reload to destroy this guy . most of us blacklisted him and he kept on saying “idc if its destroying your creations” and almost the server fought against him . i used my tutorial jet , bc i cant build jets by myself , to fight back but we lost . he dominated the server and the rest of us left . i was still in there trying to upgrade my hospital ship but the damn shredders were outside my thing making me distracted . he eventually left and peace was restored . there were around 5 people left but i wonder where he is right now . stay safe plane crazy citizens .

Honestly i'd probably prefer a server full of blocky unmotorlocked build and missiles than shredder

I remember when Plane crazy only has non motorlocked builds and we also liked fighting with WWII Designs. Such as tanks,Planes, and ships. I miss those days when there weren't such shredders or literally just blocky builds.

My first heli that i made that works Mil Mi-28. I nicknamed it fortress. It was so durable and agile. I dont know how many shredders i destroyed with it. It was my masterpiece.

Recently, I was in a server with 3 Omni shredders. Me and a couple of my friends were testing out pvp builds and these guys came along, just spamming us for fun. So, I found what I think is one of the best Omni shredder defenses. Basically, you take a gun turret, at cutters around the turret so if the cutter rams you, it might take damage. Than, everywhere on the ground, place tnt set to explode when you hit a key, and boom. Long range high damage attack, and deadlier defense. Hope this helps.

To add on to the lore, I believe I am partially to blame for the shredder bugs. Between October of 2019 and May of 2020, I was working on a very large rocket which is now my oldest and largest save file, but with the same guided missile mechanics that were also evolving in the game around that time. Eventually I got it to be a two part rocket controlled almost exactly as modern shredders are, but it was carrying bombs instead of moving cutters. By the time it was finished it was a pretty large feat both in the game and the discord server, which gained me multiple different ranks, however its one flaw became apparent and people began to take notice that moving cutter parts would deal more damage than a large bomb, though the same mechanism used in guided missiles would still be the best way to control it. I know there were still creations around at the time with the same design and purpose as my rocket, however I have not seen another rocket or missile of the same size as mine and using the same control mechanism because I believe my missile proved to the community that much deadlier and larger weapons could be made using the same design as the very small guided missiles that first came, which is when the shredders began to arrive in the servers. Also I believe I have a solution to fighting the shredders. The most successful thing I know of to destroy them happens to be a giant controllable bomb using their same mechanism.

I remember, the days that followed the creation of the shredders, my cafe (a floating building) was terrorized, which influenced the idea of putting escape pods, but even with defenses and escape mechanisms, my cafe was utterly defenseless which was annoying but fun and chaotic at times, mostly annoying.

I'd like to mention something of an upside in the shredder war, yet something that may become the thing we all hate one day. The Jet Age has begun. Involving the motor locked jet, capable of extreme maneuverability and peed, able to outclass almost any shredder bug. It may be our one savior, the Messiah of PC PVP.

The good thing is that even shredders can be countered now by those small light tanks tried it once and i actually survived until he kept respawning and finally destroying my tank. shredders are becoming obsolete fast since people are gaining more and more knowledge on how to beat em so thats good

I joined Plane Crazy for the first time in about late 2021 so I obviously never saw one of these shredders or even knew about this Thank you for explaining.

I rarely play PC nowadays and when I do, I always get nostalgic with my old builds, specifically the ones that I made for shredder killing. Hellhound, Night Gaunt and both builds that I accidentally deleted, Zepha and Sea Bishop. These 4 builds really gave me great happiness during early to mid 2020, until now I still use Hellhound and Night Gaunt when ever I spot the occasional shredder here and there. Good times

In addition to all this remember, an easy way to beat shredder bugs is to be faster than them. They rely entirely on slow-moving targets that are easy to outmaneuver. The faster you are, the safer.

Shredders where great for a while but people seem to have gotten wise on how to avoid / resist them- My preferred method is using redundancy in my planes, so for example one of my builds has 3 sections each with 4 arms which have another 4 full sets of rockers and weapons on them which means a shredder would have to get through 3x4x4 (48) different sections before the plane stops working.

Goes to show how beautiful and deadly innovation really is. I have no hate on shredders, nor do I like them.

I know one way to attack shredders, dive runs. Firstly, stay away from the disgusting shredder bug and climb to a nice 3000 altitude then wait for it to encounter an enemy at a location where it can be cornered in. After all of those preparations are set, ready your missiles and cock back a guns hammer and dive down toward it while it is busy scavenging a destroyed vessel. Fire your turret at it and launch your missiles at it once your nearly directly above it within a hundred meters and then do a quick vertical climb and yaw the axis of your aircraft toward safety and rise to 3000 altitude to go again for another run or move on to another target like a lonely tiger enjoying its Sherman tank for lunch.

I remember the first time i joined Plane Crazy PVP, it was already when the Shredder Wars had begun. I would feel like a totally new recruit and i'm glad that someone could mke a video on the events.

As an unbiased guy on this, I think it is interesting to see how shredders and PVP jets have adapted to the circumstances of one another, and have ended up forming a delicate balance between the two.

The shredders being everywhere is like in ace combat 7 where the drone uploads it's schematics to build more drones. Actually you know what someone should do a plane crazy skit with that.

I created a rapid-fire SMG cannon filled with ball tnts. It was decently effective agains’t shredders. But, not as my prototype of shotgun few months back. Which “shredded” shredders. And especally the omri-shredders. The con of it was the mobility and low ammo capicity, Making it less viable again’t multiple targets. The range was surprisingly good. Damage was excelllent. Bullet velocity not so great. Overall it was good defense. When i was on the server with the shotgun. Some people were more annoyed by me, than the shredder. cuz, it caused superior damage than anything else, along with minor lagg.

I actually once met the friend of the original shredder creator. His friend told me that as soon as he made a shredder and it got popular he unfriended him. He was a good guy and pretty nice to talk to.

I expected some shit but this was actually good. Back in the day everything was simpler and it was possible to fight machine vs machine and not bugs. There were also not so many toxic kids or lifeless teens who never touched grass and cry if something isn't motorlocked. But we'll yeah I don't play this game anymore so I don't need to care

You cannot deny that everyone joined the shredder bug incursion at one point, but realized it was too much power for one person, and must be destroyed.

Honestly "omni-shredders" are the easiest to kill for me, because most are poorly built. It could also be that I have a massive high speed rotating device that I call the flinger.

I think shredders were a good thing Back in the day, shredders were non stopping machines But the arms race and the union of the people against it changed that It is becoming rare to see one And it boosted the pvp tech really hard

Shredder bugs shouldn’t be banned, there should just be features to make them less effective like armor.

Shredders have evolved once more, however rare. I personally call them Mega Shredders. They are shredder bugs that are as big as a plot in length, are way more manoeuvrable, and can reach speeds up to 1700 studs per second. They are really difficult to fight even with the best experience and are loaded with rockets, guns and tons of cutters making them extremely dangerous.

When i started my plane crazy adventure ive fought my fair share of shredders. They always ruined my ww2 pvp battles by just going super fast and wrecking everything. Although my slower but more manoeuvrable ww2 planes could out turn and flank the shredders it was too much. They took over the servers. I resulted in trying many methods. Now im a shredder hunter, hunting shredders up till this day, with AA guns and fast rapid transit off-roading vehicles with weapons developed by other pc youtubers such as the magnetic propulsion tnt ball canon made by that badass plane crazy youtuber. Using explosives i have been able to counter many shredders. I have collabed with many others in the server to combat the shredders. Ive watched many of anti-shredder videos including the ones featured in this video, by luring shredders into water we have used out builds to crush them while their immobilised. It is unknown when the war will end but i will continue fighting until it does. Stay safe out there fellow builders

I think i have seen me Omni shredder before. When i was driving my train in plane crazy, and all of a sudden there was a giant black ball with spikes hit my train. And it flew me off the rails and then when I landed it's started to destroy my train until my engine is gone. I climed out of the cab and see what that has done to my train (The reason why I go to the pvp server is because I was bored in the non pvp server and see would people attack an innocent train. And YES, it DID attack me)

Tip:- if you have a massive build, add guided missiles and conveyor drives as your build might have the space for them.

I’m still upset about all these but if anything it has helped us. We needed to adapt to survive and because of this, skills and techniques have become more advanced

Back when shredders were introduced I remember the fastest useful pvp speed was 600, no omnis, just fish and the sword was the only challenger to the 600 speed standard

It is of my opinion as a long time plane crazy player to keep shredders in general around. Plane crazy is a game of innovation and watching the evolution of both jets and shredders has shown me if there’s nothing to challenge people in pvp innovation will never take place. Shredders thin out the new players who leave without dedication to the game… people who like the game but are new and not willing to experiment often go to tutorials wich make the people who make tutorials more popular. As shredders changed pvp changed witch is a sign of their impact on pvp, they got faster, more maneuverable… jets did the same. They are important to the existence of pvp as it stands today.

Havent touched on this game in a while so i dont know if theres any update of mechanics but i remember that i once made an “anti shredder flak” which basically a rocket propelled flak turret thats covered in cutter its weirdly ineffective against ground targets (lets keep it that way) but it was superbly strong against normal shredders. You can bet real money that i slapped every weaponry possible on my flak to counter those “super shredders” and mega swarms

I get why people hate shredders. Really, I do. I hate them as well. But in all honesty, you would normally want the best possible build for your plane crazy PVP machine, correct? What I'm saying is, that the original shredder creators in my opinion are very good at what they do. They created a design that was not only very capable at offensive abilities, but in also defensive capabilities, as they are hard to kill. All while staying in a very simple domain to build. Now I'm not encouraging people to use shredders, ESPECIALLY tutorial shredders (because of obvious reasons) What I am saying is that if someone creates a shredder, and it's their own original idea, it isn't necessarily BAD. They had the genius to make such a build and it's our own fault for not being able to counter them effectively. There IS a way to counter them effectively, someone just hasn't found the 100% solution yet. (I know there never will be "100%" solution, but we could get very close) All in all, I don't like shredders, but I don't hate the people who themselves made them originally. It is my own fault for not being able to counter them effectively. So I must give them props for making a build that I struggle with, as that is the point of the PVP arena. Make the best PVP machine to your ability, as deadly as possible to assure victory over other players. *All is fair in war.*

i remember the times i used my plane to shoot them but luckily my plane could turn really fast and perform a decent cobra manuever.

i will say, i think i made a very good thing to counter, take the BP-1 Scout tutorial, and replace the guns with cutters, the plane is maneuverable and the cutters work well, you put them on the lower wing basically, but i haven’t encountered another shredder to test this on, i just made this last night

Shredders seem to be entering partial obsolescence lately, i find the common shredder to be ineffective against anything capable of dodging while being vulnerable to counter attacks. Heck, even large builds which are supposedly weak to them are actually effective sometimes because they're too durable to chew through while the supposed punching bag can simply punch back. They are still very strong sometimes, mainly variants of the aptly named "omni shredders" but i find pvp jets to be even stronger. They're also on the rise lately which i see as a problem because they're way too dominant in pvp. To make things worse, most of them are sweaters or just greedy for kills, willing to spend as much as half an hour trying to shoot down their target just to get a kill or going after bigger builds when they can't shoot down smaller ones. Meanwhile people with arguably far inferior builds can achieve the same in a fraction of the time. The very worst of the jet users are those who are absolutely rotten to the core, I probably don't need to explain why. Thankfully though, some of them are actually decent people. Plane crazy can be fun sometimes but unfortunately children and sweaters exist.

When a player owns a shredder they cover their plot username with half blocks (3 and 3 on each side depending on how long it is) (and a anchored block to the middle u can actually see thru the blocks)

2 years and im still fighting shredders in pvp i havent been shot down and then i realized shredders are dissapearing and i only see 1 shredder every last week

I think the shredders are beginning to end. You can see now that there has been a decline in shredder bugs in pvp servers. I think this is because of the hate that players of shredder bugs get from the Plane Crazy community. Another thing is that groups have been getting popular recently and im 100 percent certain they wont let someone who uses shredders, let alone uses tutorials.

If anyone still plays still game and has no idea how to defeat shredders, I can tell you: Just build an armoured cube on wheels with flamethrowers, multiple small turrets on top and cutters everywhere. This was my last build. Its no fun, but it works and I'm sure it's possible to make a large tank out of it

I have actually created a machine, I call it, "The Crowned Shredder". It's a massive shredder ball that I will not tell how to make it, because the shredders will gain an advantage. Basically you blacklist a shredder, go up to him, shoot him/shred him/blow him up. It's incredibly effective and has not lost once.

Shredder balls were originally made to fight shredder bugs, however just like italy, their creators switched sides.

The sad thing is. The easiest way to combat a Shredder, is to use a shredder. But, the good thing is nobody builds them. Campaigns of mass bullying of the shredder user is common. And, usually inneffective. I sit alone in my VIP server. Been doing that since the Shredder sword thing. I have Never encountered an Omni bug. I only hear tales. And I hope they stay as tales. Before 2020 it was awesome. You could still make tanks and armored trains, and still have things to fight. You had other ground vehicles, tanks, everything. The only annoying thing then was people spamming a bunch of TNT blocks together and putting wheels on it and charging you, although you could easily just shoot them. Then the remotely controlled rockets came, cowards would just stay at their spawn and launch their missile at you, and declare victory, even though they didn't do any real fighting, with their suicide drone. You could counter that by going to their spawn and just shooting them or knocking their chair off the map. Then the shredders came, and whatever you had on the ground would be destroyed instantly. No one was safe, and you only could fly to avoid them. Almost no pratical way to stop them. And then aircraft became popular. If you were to make a large tank or any armored train these days, it would either be destroyed by some coward with a missile, or get destroyed by shredder bugs, or every plane in the server would attack you. I miss those days. Today on Plane Crazy, I fly a big B-36 I made to bomb the ground, which is almost as fun as the tanks and trains I made. Those shredder bugs ruined it all.

easiest way to kill the shredder bugs is doing a car full of cutters with 4 super rocket in the rear and propellers in the top of car with reverse thrust

Though they are extremely annoying to the point pvp servers just go blank,they also have some kind of mutual relationship to players,they force people to evolve they're aircrafts to make them faster just like in real life while shredder bugs get to feast on their failed attempts to do so,it's a win-win if you see it on a different perspective,but they did end the era of normal land vehicles,nowadays tanks have fast acceleration which is very weird,and ships now have the ability to do levitate with full control but what the hell this is plane crazy Rick added the word crazy for a reason There are no heroes without villains Just like how there wouldn't be all kind of glitch engines of it weren't for those shredders

Interestingly I dont think shredders have been a bad edition to plane crazy 100 percent. Id say its at least a 50-50 scenario. Some time after my comment, ive noticed new creations being built to counter shredders. To put it simply, people were evolving to combat this almost unstoppable force. It really cause majority of the community to band together to fight the shredders. Although shredders ruined a lot of things, i did teach us to evolve our creations to be better, faster, more efficient. Although the battle scars are still there, im sure we wont miss shredders, but the times we continuously fought them wont be forgotten within me and others. So you could say shredders were a curse and gift to the plane crazy community. But i still do think they suck

Shredder bugs have gone extinct over the winter because the game also went extinct. Either way, shredder bugs aren’t a problem for people that actually know how to play the game

I reversed engineered the shredder tech and i made the anti shredder it uses a converyor engine to out manuever regular shredders, added rockets for mid range fights

This is a great documentary, luckily shredders are starting to die down, I haven’t seen one in pvp for a while.

I regret to say, (I may be mistaken) that I sparked the first omni shredders. I may have created the very first version of them. somewhere between a year and six months ago (I was playing during the start of modern shredder bugs), I made something that had six sections with motor twos so that I could aim my creations and use super rocket engines to propel myself up to 5000 speed. I only used rockets and guns unaware of the potential horrors this may cause. I called it "The wind" or also with a meme name of sonic. I fear that I created a menace to all of the pc community as I had never seen anything like it before and I still do believe that it was the start. For a detailed explanation, I had an anchor block in the middle for convenience then there were I believe motor twos all around it leading to a couple block long beam with about four super rocket engines, weapons, and on one end of a beam the main pilot seat. this was extremely primitive but fast compared to our modern omni shredders. It did not do much damage but was fun to move around with. Overall the movement was clunky and you would kind of wiggle to where your mouse was pointed in a non-efficient fashion along with it's high speed I did not believe that It could work for pvp as it could not fire accurately and was too fast to trail planes.
