I was a pretty big heavy metal fan back in the day, but seeing the Punk Rock Girl video on MTV late one night really had a huge impact on me. It inspired me to search out other bands aside from Slayer and Metallica. The Dead Milkmen will always hold a special place in my memories.

I remember trading an Iron Maden tape for a Dead Milkmen tape (Beelzebubba). I thought their songs were funny and i remember showing the tape to my older sister's boyfriend as i thought he was cool. And he responded "i don't like punk rock" and i was confused at first "punk rock" i thought, but then i thought "fuck that guy, i like this stuff" and never looked back. Goodtimes

Same here. All I knew was Bon Jovi, Poison, G&R, VH-1, etc. Seeing Punk Rock Girl on MTV inspired me to seek out new music, which led me to 120 Minutes and the rest is history. I got into They Might Be Giants, Violent Femmes, Depeche Mode, etc, but it was The Dead Milkmen which led me here.

I'll never forget when I was a teenager. I went to see them with my friend at the Graffiti in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was 250lbs. While the band was playing, she took off her underwear , & threw it on stage. The Dead Milkmen stopped the music, & started laughing 😂😂🤣🤣

That album changed my life! Started listening to it when I was 15, back in the 90s. I still listen to it all the time to this day. My kids are musicians and they cover these the songs.❤

I saw the Dead Milkmen play a double bill with Mojo Nixon in Northampton, MA. The show was absolute mayhem, with kids rocking out on stage with the band, and the Milkmen sitting in on a few songs with Mojo. Unforgettable performance!

Saw the Milkmen at Bogart’s, in Cincinnati, in 1990, as a sophomore in high school. It was the first concert I ever attended on my own, with a friend. All the shows that I had seen before then were always with my parents. I’ll never forget it. What a wild night that was. 😂

I've always loved The Dead Milmen because they made light of the whole punk "scene" bullshit and pointed out the ridiculousness of it all. Songs I will never get sick of listening to!!

Thank you for sharing these stories. As a youth I listened to all of your albums on cassette tape in the 80's I had 1 other friend who liked it, but no one else would listen to them. We destroyed instant club hit and big lizard and eat your paisey and bucky fellini at least 4 times each. wore them out! Never knew anything about the band or you guys, could never find out living in rural Florida. Thanks to the internet and thanks to your posts, I find out you are all really cool peeps! Thanks again.

Wicked Story!!! Thank you so much for sharing it!!! Despite being a metalhead in high school I got into a lot of punk bands. I was lucky enough to see the dead milkmen at Harpos in Victoria, BC. I absolutely love these guys!!! ✌️💖🤟

Do you remember a guy running out of a record store door and literally RUNNING into you on the sidewalk before you played the record shop? I left my lights on in my van. I was shocked when I looked up and bumped into, Rodney I believe. So awkward for me but pretty cool in a strange way. You looked at me in the First Ave audience because you recognized me later on that night. I'll never forget. Dean threw out a rose and I caught it.

The one and only time I went to Club Bene in Sayerville was to see the Milkmen,March or April 1990 before Metaphysical Graffiti came out. One of the best shows I've seen. They were great live,a fun show.

I met them on this tour. They were playing at Bogarts in Cinci and did an interview on 97X up in Oxford. Friend of mine was a DJ there and called me to go get them and shuttle them to the station from the venue. I had a '69 Catalina with an airhorn on it and as I recall, we ran over a raccoon on the way in. Good times and good guys.

A similar thing almost happened to my band, but it was GG Allin. He was supposed to bust through the door and start doing GG Allin stuff during our set. He didn't make it. I was relieved.
