My brother Steve turned me on to The Beatles when we were kids. Their music has been so important to us that it has influenced our relationships, families, and friendships... Like so many others, Paul McCartney is the reason I became a musician and the reason I write, record, and perform. This meeting was not expected, nor was it announced... That being said, some of us were more "switched on" but my brother and I were so stunned we could barely speak. At least (thanks to my wife's prodding) I was able to pull it together enough to tell Paul the only thing I could ever say that would ever make any sense...

In June 1966 I was 11 years old and living in Tokyo. My dad was able to get two tickets for my sister's birthday for the Beatles who were playing at the Buddakhan in downtown Tokyo. My sister, who was 16, was kind enough to take her little brother to the concert. Something I'll never forget. The concert is on KZfaq and when my sister was in Texas for a visit a couple years ago I pulled up the concert and played video. It was cool knowing that in that crowd of Japanese girls were my sister and I. years later I had the pleasure of seeing Wing in San Antonio. A great show as well.

Thanks for sharing this. As I read your intro, about your brother Steve, I immediately began to well up with tears. My older brother Steve had also turned me on to the Beatles as well. I'm 56 and my brother Steve would have been 66 this year (2017). We are coming up on the first anniversary of his death this December, so watching this sure brings back so many memories. I play guitar too and first saw Paul McCartney in May of 1976 at Cincinnati's Riverfront Coliseum.

I would love to thank Paul personally for all that great music growing up. But I guess he already knows. My favorites were in 1967 in the 5th grade when the 45 came out with Penny Lane on one side and Strawberry fields on the other. I would walk to and from school through a big strawberry farm at the time. Then they did it again the next year with Hey Jude on one side and Revolution on the other. I still have those old 45s today, and I am still amazed by the songs.

CAREFUL!!!” What a great guy. I met him when he and Linda were still married and then again in 2007. I’m a musician also. He was always cool. Not a hint of scandal about him. Genuine. I asked him about his watch and he took it off to show me and for the most epic 5 seconds of my life I thought he was going to GIVE IT to me, but he was just showing it to me. On the back was engraved “from L to P happy birthday” 1978. It was a gift from his late wife Linda. He still wears it. Angels do indeed walk among us

To think of this one in a million chance i think i would have asked him the question EVERYONE really wants to know the answer to: Me: "Hey Paul, remember when you were with the Beatles? (Waits for answer)...... Paul: "Yes, I remember." Me: "Yeah that was awesome! So, Paul, remember when you wrote the words 'And in the end the love you take equals the love make." Paul: "Sure, i remember that." Me: "So, is that true?" Paul: "Well i like to think so." Me: "Cool.......damn I'm such an idiot!!" I miss Chris Farley. And love Paul!
