Detective Comics is definitely the better book during this time. Imo it's the closest thing to "classic" Batman that we've seen so far.

yes, Bane ran an entire crime organization of his own. he even hired catwoman for a job. well, more that she was forced to work for him? i dont remember.

I have a feeling that this may be the lower selling one compared to Batman The Caped Crusader...everything happens in the latter.

first few issues of Barr i consider the conclusion of Moench's run. the modern age i just start at feb 87. it's gonna be artificial no matter how you divide up the multiverse.

Batman doesn't get good until the ghost writers were let go alongside Bob Kane and replaced by Frank Robbins as sole writer until Denny O'Neil (passed away a few months ago) joined as 2nd writer in 1970.
