It was very sweet to write this script after so many serious dramas. 😂😍 Bravo Ms Lillian Gish Bravo 👏

Lovely actress, still beautiful in her advancing years.

Just watched this episode. A departure from the controversial mood of most of "The Defenders." This one was heart-warming. Thanks for posting!

This is the funniest one I have seen so far! And I am really enjoying it. This is such a good way to teach lessons about life, gently and with humor. And I love the way the senior Preston meets up with challenges that really try his patience and beat him down at times and he shows himself as "no saint" either. That is always my FAVORITE part.

This is a good light hearted episode. This show has a lot of heavy episodes, nice to take a break.

Sweet and funny episode. What class Lillian Gish had, great actress in silents and in talkies. Nice to see a different side of these lawyers. EG Marshall showed some flair for comedy. Great episode.

This so good! I’m really enjoying it, a relief from all the serious episodes! The “ladies “ remind me of another series, The Snoop Sisters, Thank you for showing it,
@PaulTesta9 ай бұрын
The Snoop Sisters! Hayes and Natwick. They only made a handful of episodes. We have the entire series on DVD. It was part of the Sunday Mystery Movie, along with Banicek, McLeod, Columbo, et al. Very enjoyable!

I used to go to this bank as a kid. It is on 116th street and Second Avenue in NYC. These episodes, as you can see at the end, were produced at the Filmways Studio in Manhattan [which dates back to the silent movie era] up around 125th - 126th street near the entrance to the Triboro Bridge complex and the FDR drive, and I've seen some location shooting in East Harlem in these old episodes. I think that the bank was a branch of Manufacturer's Hanover Trust, which no longer exists, having been merged with Chemical Bank which in turn was merged with Chase Bank.

I submitted some filming locations from the first season at IMDb. The studio was located at 246 E 127th St, East Harlem, Manhattan, the exterior was used in a few episodes. The law office exterior is located at 26 Broadway, Manhattan.

@@Zebra_3 Another small coincidence - i worked in 26 Broadway from 2002-05.

There was an episode of the Flintstones called Grandma Dynamite. I wonder if they got the idea from this.
@PaulTesta9 ай бұрын
Very possibly. The Flintstones episode you're referring to was entitled "Foxy Grandma" (S3 E21) and it aired Feb 8 1963, less than 2 months after this episode of "The Defenders" aired.

How can there be 10 people who didn't like this? Granted, the writers may have tried a little too hard, but the show was still delightful. I especially liked the financial scheme the neighborhood worked out for the ladies. I didn't realize until the closing credits that I was watching Lillian Gish. WOW! The 10 who didn't like this show prpbably have no idea who she was.

Proverbs 8:13 King James Version 13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Proverbs 11:2 King James Version 2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. Proverbs 13:10 King James Version 10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. Proverbs 14:3 King James Version 3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them. Proverbs 16:18 King James Version 18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 29:23 King James Version 23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. Promotion of pride is diabolical. It is the spirit of Anti-Christ. HUMILITY, is the opposite of PRIDE; And the #1 Character trait of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Meekness = Power under control. Being humble is the same character trait of Moses. Pride is an evil attitude. Only wickedness is associated with pride; and what else? LYING!! LYING combined with pride equals... Satan! The enemy of God. These shows are so twisted in their plot. Totally convoluted. Making evil, good; and making GOOD seem evil.
