Here we get to watch an old house get demolished. This is the house I just made a tour video of. Thanks for watching.

I see this all the time where I live. Lovely old house demolished and replaced by graceless garbage. Or they just drag a mobile home onto the site.

I'm about to demo a house that is beyond repair from termites, water damage, and mold. I will be using a track hoe with a thumb, placing materials into 40 yard roll off dumpsters as I go. I'm figuring $3000 to $3500 total cost.

I had fell into a septic tank while demolishing a mobile home. My mistake was assuming the hole in the front yard about 4x9 feet was the old septic tank. I thought someone had already taken care of it prior to my agreement to demo the structure. When I went around back my left track fell through the tank lid and the contents spewed up all around but I did not get any on me but the machine sure got it good.

It would have probably been easier to dismantle that house by hand ... at least there won't be a mess to clean up!

So curious as to when that house was built and when it was last lived in. Probably never know. I’ve seen houses like this off the highway taken back by nature so much demolition is practically unnecessary.

I wonder how much it would cost to repair the damage to this house ? General Patton was remembered during a "tank" display, after driving into a house disappeared. minuteslater emerged and said : "Nobody said there was a basement".

A shame the operator didn't dig up the flooring of the house as well. Otherwise, he did a decent job.

How sad. If this house could talk. I wonder what stories it could tell about the families that have lived there. The birth of the home and it's death. The first wife to walk into it, And the first baby to come home to it.

I know this may be a daft question but , if you are going to have a burning pile, why not just start a fire in the center of the house and let it do all the work for you . You just tidy up whats left . Merry christmas , stay well stay safe.

There are lots of reasons to build a new house and tear down the old one. The layout in old houses are boxy. Often times they have additions added all over the place and not often well done. The bathrooms are small, usually there is only one. They have no insulation and no central air and heat, drafty and expensive to heat and cool. They could have toxic building materials. They leak. Often they have termite damage and rot. The kitchens are cut off and the laundry is just stuck in some random place. So once you have the new house or your going to build one. You cant let the old one just sit there. They grow up and get snakey and animals move in. Also kids like to play in old buildings so its dangerous. Its better to just knock it down if you have no plans to use the building. Unless its historical, get rid of it.
