***** I love seeing these guys like this, so candid and all. Kind of blows up the theory that Leo is gay because Matt never would have felt comfortable giving him the business like that in an interview. It's also kind of cool that Matt felt comfortable giving shit to the Great Leo DeCaprio that way. Matt get Leo to break character was the best because he so damn serious all the time. 1997....I became a huge fan of both Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting) and Leonardo DiCaprio (Titanic). They were my two favorite actors and I remember thinking, how AMAZING it would be if the two would star in a movie together...9 years later they are starring in a bad ass movie, and I remember thinking OMG it actually happened! It's nice to see a dream come to fruition! =)

***** just insinuating he wasn't a renowned actor and probably would never be good enough, especially in a film with prominent directors and actors such as Scorsese and Nicholsan. The departed came out in 2006, 10 years ago in 1996 Leo was in only a handful of films, and did not became a "superstar" until his role in titanic (1997). Fast forward to the present, Leo has made a name for himself and definitely has the last laugh!

JRZY DY I put every movie to the "is it great" test by seeing how many times I watch it. Matrix? Great movie. Jaws? Great movie. Exorcist? Great. GoodFellas? Great. All those movies I've watched more than 5 times each. Departed? If you paid me $20 to go see it I would turn you down. It was a pale take-off on GoodFellas. But directors today cash in on making remake's once the groundbreaking film (like those above mentioned) are created. If you can only sit through a movie once it is far from great. I prefer Affleck's film, "The Town" over this film anyway.

name one actor in Goodfellas worse than Matt Damon. Maybe Marky Mark but he's in the same film. Matt Damon is Matt Damon on screen and off. He can't get out of his way. Pesci, Deniro in his prime and Liotta are the best 3 tour de force in acting period. Script in Goodfellas was genuinely comic and scary and interesting. Departed was Scorsese trying to pay alimony with a quick remake. He needed cash and whipped out that film. But it all comes down to the script.

When you are on the levels of Matt Damon, Leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, George Clooney, Will Smith, Johnny Depp etc. I doubt you even have to audition or screen test for anything these guys have it made in Hollywood- a place where many flock with big dreams hoping to make it to the big leagues and very very few make it, let alone have long lasting careers! Love the interview

Josh McLendon Hugh Jackman auditions. He auditioned for Les Miserables (a 4 hour audition, in fact). And he does not get paid for auditioning. In fact, he does not get paid for cameos either. He told them to give the money from his X-Men First Class cameo to charity.

This movie is timeless. I've repeated many times. Everytime when I watch it I get to appreciate something new about it. Recently, I actually discovered there are high chances that Billy was the father of Madolyn's unborn child in the movie. She wanted to break the news to Billy, but Billy did not give her a chance. And the pain of not sharing these news become very evident at the funeral. Even though she does not appear pregnant at the funeral - the stomach does not show any sign of pregancy, I do want to believe that she was expecting Billy's son. Which adds to the twisted nature of the script, EPIC.

Just you know, George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck are one click (it's a well known fact), and George Clooney was on record saying that he did not like Dicaprio back in 2013. Probably because the tabloids don't go as insane over him than they do Leo (no judgement against Matt for this, just how it is). And because Leo has been acting and in the spotlight so much longer than Matt, I wouldn't be surprised if he was weary of media/interviews.

***** I caught Infernal Affairs on Netflix just last night. I might have been impressed if I saw it before I saw The Departed, but I felt The Departed really was a better overall movie.

Internal Affairs is brilliant. I guess being a $90,000,000 movie, "The Departed" is well done, bravo... but it's a high budget, a lot of star actors involved, Hollywood rip-off. Btw. Tony Leung is no lees of a great actor than any of those in "The Departed". Anyone who has seen the movies he's in- knows that.

I don't know why I think these two look alike as a little kid. Though, I love them both. Leo D usually play the con-artist role. Matt D usually play the nerdy role. Brad Pitt, the sexy and charming role.
