I hear this all the time in a different context. A few people I know are in toxic relationships, and they always say "this isn't who my partner is." I always found that incredibly odd, although it makes sense from an emotional standpoint. It's not who they THINK they are, even if objectively speaking they are horrible. Logically, there is no defense, so the appeal / rationalize it with emotions.

Whenever I apologize I always dismiss any excuses. Me: "The reason why it happened doesn't matter, nor should you care. It happened and I was wrong to do it. I'm sorry."

I always interpret that as "That's not who I want to be." But it sure sounds like it was who HE wanted to be. lol

my friend’s little brother is like this!!! he was always one of those kids who liked to scream at people while playing online games. now he’s graduated high school and is trying to turn his pastime of yelling at video games into a career as a twitch streamer. it’s not going very well, he has like 10 subscribers on twitch and he’s been streaming for like 2 years. he spends several hours a day just screeching and making noise, im sure the neighbors love it!!! at least he has a day job though lmao

"Loud content" can be funny sometimes, especially when you're actively engaging with the stream, but the majority of people (me included) keep the streams minimized/on the second monitor while doing something else. And I don't have to tell you how annoying they can be while you're trying to do something else, even if you love the streamer in question.

There's plenty of streamers that aren't just all hyper and screaming, but that's just the popular content for teens and zoomers who make up the vast majority of viewers. And this applies not only to twitch, but KZfaq and other social media as well. It's just that those platforms are much better at serving you exactly what you want rather than just what's popular.

I mean, i guess he committed career self-die, but i genuinely wouldn't be surprised if he does eventually because he CRAVES the spotlight and the attention. Look at that bald monkey looking guy who also streamed league of legends and was known for being the most toxic guy ever... that was his WHOLE persona (idk if he still streams but i never watched him to begin with). I don't really agree with that. It depends on how that money comes. if you're a regular joe and you come into money, then I can see your statement as mostly true. However, If you are a streamer and over a period of 10 years let's say, then you are gradually changing who you are over that time just to get more and more money. Especially if you're young, I think they are literally being changed into something else. Once I get rich, I'll come back and let you know how it went.

He used to be a pro gamer and his passion was video games so that real type of fame he found was completely destroyed for him. I honestly think the video overestimates how much money he made in comparison to how he spends or how good he was.... i dont seem to recall him going big after the initial twich run he was just sort of there in the very early league days and suddenly he left CLG stopped streaming league and dissapeared onto CSGO. He was good at league in D1 but for only a small time i before the the higher tier ranked system and introduction of master/grandmaster after he could barely play in low gold. On stream he became an alcoholic got into various toxic relationships and was involved in multiple lawsuits. This guy probably had a multitude of problems that you and i are both happier without.
