We all know someone who has become embittered in life. They have planted kernels of unresolved anger and resentment and have become entrapped by the overgrown jungle of the bitter fruit it has created. To choose the bitter path (and it is a choice) is to walk down a self-destructive road that banishes peace and promotes self-centeredness. Let’s consider several Scriptures and the four attributes of a heart poisoned by bitterness.
This teaching is from our series White Collar Sins with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

So grateful that I listened to this sermon. My bitterness has grown over the years to a point where I have driven a wedge between me and my siblings. Pray that all the past resentment be wiped out of my heart and mind; and that I can renew my heart and mind in Christ Jesus! Love this Pastor!

@@Darkbnight89 Yes it did. And some other sermons and messages. Because it is God's message of repentance and love. I'm growing and learning more about the walk of the Christian and learning to grow in the faith. Seeds were planted and because of you, I am back here and will be watching this now again. This was a really good sermon series for me and I am happy to listen to it again because we are all sinful and need God's Word to break through our strongholds.

@@Darkbnight89 It's very easy to become ungrateful in this world. But with God, He can help you! Just ask and be faith filled with your focus on Him. Persist, you will do it! Philippians 4:8. Look it up. It will help you focus on the good things!!! Hang in there!

God bless you brother for this has provided me with the understanding and renewal of my mind that I've been praying for!! There has been much bitterness rooted within me from my family, to friends turning their backs on me, and I knew something was wrong, I just couldn't put my finger on it. God spoke through this message to me and God bless you for being a vessel for delivering it. Gonna go root myself in God's love!!!!!😇❤

I usually don't listen to other pastors becuase I don't know what kind of influence they might have on me that doesn't fit with my church doctrine. However, after listening to him, I found that he speaks the truth and that I see alot of goodness in him and his face is happy. That is a big sign for me because sometimes even if you wanna be happy you can't fake it all the time. I have always kinda stuggles with religion and church but what he said about religion making people confuse and just cause chaos is so true. That follow Jesus and being like him sounds less chaotic to me. That is why having two different parents with different church same beliefs. makes me aware of religions and the chaos it causes. I chose to believe in Jesus and follow on the instruction He gave us then follow churches craziness. Take it with a grain of salt. thank you.

I realize lately I have been harboring bitterness that's really been there a long time. I can relate to this message very much. Today I recognized bitterness in me. It really brimmed over. So, some things circle round like layers of the onion. Time to re-examine and start again on the journey of change/sanctification. God's Word is always true.

The mainstream culture has been so filled with advice from atheistic therapists that say we have to keep reliving our pain, that we cannot live in the now, that we will always be victims. People need this message, that it's ok to forgive. Forgiveness is not saying what happened is ok, that your allowing it to happen again. Its understanding God's grace and forgiveness for us, its letting go of the hurt and bitterness that is chaining us to the past and not letting us press forward to better days.

I loosen myself of have any bitter heart against those that abused me daily and for many years since I know they are completely deranged and do not know what they do, their destruction being their destruction. I also loosen myself of every bitterness of every delay in my studies because of sick, deranged people that hindered me. Loosen me of every root of bitterness please Lord, heal the evildoers where possible of every root of bitterness, loosening myself of carrying any the bitterness of another, binding myself, my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ not to carry any root of bitterness, binding myself not to be unequally yoked with and have any common share with those who do carry bitterness in one's heart, in accordance with psalm 7:16, hebrews 12:14-15, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 and this word in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

Please pray for a friend of mine. She has Special Needs and is in a bad relationship. Pray that God gets her out of it. Pray that the guy doesn’t rape or kill her. Pray that he doesn’t isolate her. Pray that her parents, family, and friends reach out to her. Pray for unity in this situation. Pray that God surrounds her with his angels, Godly people, in general, and new or old Godly friends. Pray against the spirit of depression, death, decay and suicide.
