6'8, 265, and throwing 99 right at you might be pretty scary. Big shoutout to our staff member, who is a pitcher, for catching this pen. Would you want to catch this pen?

I loved seeing this and It’s great to hear someone say what you said. I often tell people, imagine if you threw something like 50 to 85 times with few very few breaks in between! Your arm would feel like it’s gonna fall off. And velocity on a baseball isn’t necessarily about a pitchers size. Love this video

These are good to watch for any sport you are in, hearing the interactions before during and after the session are great motivators and teach you how to go from serious to casual between reps while trying to maintain focus and improve constantly. Plus the background reactions of other players and coaches also working and commenting add to that competitive environment.

I hope if we face him? That we can rattle him? We'll find out in front of thousands of fans how he fear Good luck moving forward kid!! And listen to that coach he's a very intelligent man and knows how to get the best out of a pitcher. Good luck from Boston!! I never say anything bad when you have talent like that!! .my cousin played in the Cape cod league and was signed by the Met in 84- 85. Life time.307 batting average

Amazing video. I recall in High School where a skinny grammer school kid always wanted to play baseball and football. One day we let him pitch and throw the football. This skinny kid had so much speed in throwing the baseball and unreal throwing ability with the football. The kid had long and skinny arms. Never knew what happened to him. Nice video.

Coach is right that he's opening up a bit early. If he can get his upper body to lag (cocking your head and letting your neck relax like Aroldis, lincecum, etc is the easiest way to achieve this) then he should be able to get more velocity.

I was a catcher way back when. Fast balls were easier to catch in the pocket. I never caught a 90+ mph pitch. High 80s was enough for me to add a layer of padding and wear a batting glove under my mitt.

technology works wonders --- when I was growing up, we had a radar gun...now there's spin rate, cut and dip.... it's crazy. I wish we had this tech when we were playing back in the 80's where 92 mph in the bigs was fast. Nolan Ryan likely threw over 100, but never measured spin and dip/sink.

I’ve been to 5 of these back in my hay day. Maxed out at 96, however at 5’10 I only got two second looks and I was still on my Active Duty contract by 6 months. I assume a taller guy might last longer? I had a rubber arm. I didn’t get a sore arm until my final try with the Padres, and I was in so much pain I was weeping all the way home. My body strength being a Marine and those daily workouts made me a thrower, and no longer a pitcher. My ego was, they want 90’s heaters I’ll give them 90’s heaters. I made many all star teams and All Ohio. I also started in the SoCal men’s league ALL STARS from the Marine Corps team and in those 3 innings gave up zero hits and stayed at 93. This kids effectiveness isn’t how fast he throws his heater, but if he can deliver the off speed with no indicators and go from 96 to 86. I get very frustrated at MLB and the mentality that PITCHERS have to over 6’3. I don’t know why because they blow out their arms with ego as well and just as often. The only time I was ever accused of being a thrower was when my speeds went over 90. I was effective, but also allowed that to trash my arm. Over the years from sophomore in high school, I could hit the high 80’s and clip the 90’s but only when I needed it, and rarely if ever threw as hard as I could, and this type of video needs to have major major warnings and cautions to any youth pitcher looking to be a great pitcher, and not a sick bay commando and ice bucket brother after an inning

I wish i had kept pitching as a kid. I was ridiculously accurate. Threw a ball anywhere i looked. Had a knuckle balls, knuckle curve, slider, screwball, changeup, split seam, two finger circle fastball change, and could throw 86 mph fastball at 12 years old ehen i was 6' 160lbs... I wish i had played in high school. I was the all star pitcher in our league and the top pitcher in socal .. by the time i graduated high school i was 6'3" and 210 lbs so i could only imagine i would have the same skills and throw in the high 90's ... My neighbor Matt Bush who was my backup made it to the Texas Rangers.... Kids, never doubt yourself, never give upat things youre good at, and never stop playing sports to hang out with your new friends cuz you finally have some. I could have been a distinguished pro baseball pitcher by now. .. my other backup pitcher from little league works as a pitching coach for the padres... Seriously never give up cuz instead of working construction i could be a pro pitcher right jow easily.
