These 14 large estate homes on premium 2 acre lots were built in 1988 by Westford homes.
They sold on average for $300,000 brand new. Fast forward to 2020 when a developer known as Treasure Hill Homes purchased the entire neighbourhood of 14 mansions. the owners were paid from $3,000,000 upwards to $8,000,000 for their homes.
The homeowners were given 2 years of rent free living before they would be forced to leave their home by spring 2023. The trees were mostly cleared out in march 2023, and demolition began in the first week of may 2023. by the beginning of july, 13 of the 14 homes had been completely demolished. the remaining 1, was vacated and demolished in october 2023. As of today, all the houses have demolished, and the road itself has been removed, and the location is now just a massive dirt construction site, and the company has started construction on the 139 new homes that will be built here.

Ethan, I’ve been watching your videos for a while, but i am still flabbergasted every time. All of these houses set to be torn down are newer, bigger, and nicer than any home I’ve ever lived in. How nice it must be to be so wealthy to throw away hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions of dollars.

It’s heartbreaking to see the demise of this once idyllic neighborhood. What beautiful homes they were. The first house in this video was my favorite. Will never forget the sight of the incredible chandelier forlornly hanging in the half demolished home. If I had been a homeowner there I would be devastated to see everything including the trees just erased from existence. Although I’m glad lots was salvaged there is still so much waste. Im glad you were able to document this whole neighborhood. Ethan you are so excellent at what you do. Thanks so much for sharing. Take care be well and stay safe.

Those old cabinets were likely well built. I bought cabinets like those to put into my new home. All I had to do was have them refaced to match the new doors I had made. I spent a fraction of the $ it wouldn't have cost if I bought new ones in the same quality. Why spend $30 K if you don't have to?

Flooding usually occurs in these situations when the water table in the area is high and therefore requires sump pumps to prevent the basement flooding. Once the power is cut to these homes, there is no longer the ability to keep the ingres of water at bay.

This is just a heads up and FYI cause I didn’t get to comment on your video, I think I fell asleep, but I really appreciated when you went to that cul-de-sac with the Italian homes and all that landscaping all those trees it took like close to 20 years for them to get it to where it was looking the way it was when you took it at the beginning and it took just a couple days to Take it apart. It’s just a shame I just had to say that because I really enjoyed the video but it made me sad at heart as well. 💔. Take care of Ethan and be safe.❤🤠

The median home price in the US in 1988 was $132,000. In Canada in 1988 the median home price was $229,000 the price difference is a lot IMHO. Today there's still a big price gap in median home prices US Vs. Canada. The house I grew up in near Phoenix, Arizona was built in 1967 and sold for $12,500. When my parents sold it in 2006 they got $360,000. The latest sale was in 2021 $575,000. I wish I would have been smart enough to get into real estate when I was on my mid 20's.

Because when they shut the power off, the sup pump cannot work to pump out the ground water. Rain and melting snow causes the ground water to rise. So the basement fills with water.

Hi Ethan 😎🏎😴,I guess you can’t stop developments and atleast you have the video documents of these mansions compared to “the now” all gone. Maybe make a short video of the new buildings being built there, show it from far away, idk just an idea. I wonder why all the mansions flooded, what causes that. Anyway I bet the owners of each mansion probably got a good amount to move out IDk lol but it’s good you did all those 🏡. Looking forward to your next video 😁😎🏎💨see you next time and always stay awesome 😁👍

Ethan, can you only imagine the memories that were made in that home if it was an original owner it’s hard to depart when a home is liking that to be a part of your family because you lived most of your life in that dream home so I can understand why perhaps they did what they did and when you do have a very high-quality built home, you don’t have to replace a lot of things it’s going to last forever if you take care of it, and those cabinets were called back in the day washed oak and I bet you it was real oak cabinets but it is a sad situation and I don’t understand why they would do this, but I’ve always said several times on your channel already. Anyways, you take care. 😮 Thank you for sharing and be safe.❤😢🤠

It also looks like for the designer of this home, used a pastel palette To give his future home Owners a choice of colors. I’ve lived a lifetime myself, and I’ve never been able to be given the opportunity to choose and make the choices of what I wanted it to my home, and that’s very rare to find when you’re able to have that kind of money to design and make choices of what you want in your own home it’s just awesome home😮😢😊

To replace that front door now a days probably is 2k -3k. The toilet if it was a high rise is probably 2-3 hundred. French doors 5 hundred a peice. Building materials have went sky high. I assume probably the construction company/ employees got those items for their homes. I'd also want the better quality items from a mansion for my little house. FYI, polished brass screen on fireplace.

It’s like these nice homes are getting knocked down because they were bad. I loved your tour so many features, the staircase etc... no trace of history for these places, so Thank you for caring about the lives of these places. Some people like to remember a fondness of living in past homes. But like I always say these realtors could’ve had some bare spots of empty land sold to the developers, and hold auctions on these homes that aren’t on the market but make some bids on land and just fix up these precious homes.❤ Watch the nose getting curious about the fridges😂

Even being built in the eighties, couldn’t afford a house like this. I could live with the eighties look, would of liked to raised our children in a house this large. Our home is small now but we also downsized because my husband got cancer and mowing, cleaning the pool I couldn’t do but even the home we sold wasn’t as nice as these eighties houses, referring to to first house I really liked, the children were busy with their lives to help with the up keep of grass and pool is why we sold and bought a small bungalow style house. Yard is very small, can see into neighbors windows, heavy curtains a must, lol 😂
