In this episode I "race" through The Devil's Race Track in my FJ Cruiser. This is a long trail in the middle of Central Utah's San Rafael Swell. The terrain is tough and the scenery is amazing!

My buddy and I did Devil's and then Fix-it last week in our LX470s (UZJ100). We were on the trail for over 10 hours and did all of Fix-it in the dark! Hell of a lot of fun, but a looong day.

That's awesome! It's a really remote area!

It appears that with those ginormous tires that the fj can go anywhere you want to go.
@offroadhub.official4 жыл бұрын
They certainly help! I feel that I can pretty much go anywhere with the exception of trails and obstacles meant for rock crawling buggies. Thanks for watching!!

So if you don't drive your FJ on the street much. Have you considered longer brake lines and removing the front sway bar? That trail looked really tippy. I come from a dirt bike back ground. So tippy still freaks me out. Lovin the channel. Steve from So Cal.

I have extended brake lines and no swaybar in the rear. I've had the front sway bar off before and it didn't really help off road, but it made it stupid tippy when it is on the highway. I just got a front locker, so in terms of traction and lifting wheels I'm ok now. IFS is just not "flexy" ever.

@@offroadhub.official oh. I didn't realize you had front lockers. I regeared several months ago. But I didn't get front lockers. In hindsight I wish I did. Oh well, it just takes money. Maybe after some failed obstacles I will go back a get those lockers.

Great vids, I’m surprised you’d go alone.

Of course I'd love to go with others, but it's pretty hard to get people together for a run. Especially on this trail since it isn't close to anywhere. Thanks for watching!

One of my co-workers that was new to the desert lost his truck to a flash flood. He parked it in an aquifer ( not knowing what an aquifer was), went for a hike and came back to it sitting under water in a raging wash. Most people don’t know that a flash flood can happen even though it’s not raining on you. In his case the rain was a solid 20 miles away. Better safe than sorry.

Holy cow that would be terrible! 😬

Just watched your video today. I wasn't sure what to expect on that trail but you've made it seem doable. You said 5 hours on the trail. Is that from I-70 to the trailhead of Fix-It Pass? My map (on-X) is a little confusing. It labels the complete return trip as Devil's Race Track, including that looks like North and South Coal Washes. Did you take North Coal Wash North to South Coal Wash and then take that South back to I-70?

5 hours on Devil's Racetrack took me to a T intersection in a wash. I made a left, which took me on a long drive back to I70, via the Eva Condor trail.

Is your rear sway bar disconnected? Or how do you get so much down travel in the rear?
@offroadhub.official4 жыл бұрын
I have no rear sway bar and have long travel dobinsons. Thanks for watching!
