The Devil Wears Prada is one of my favorite movie until now. Who doesn't like seeing the beautiful things in this movie? From the beautiful set, fashion cloths, the catwalk, and soundtrack, it really paid off.
Meryl Streep always gives the best performance no matter how small or big the movie and she did it again. I cannot imagine other person playing Miranda other than her. Anne Hathaway also great as Andrea (Andy) along with Emily Blunt as Emily. I always put myself in Andy's perspective when I watch this movie. Seeing Andy trying so hard to get the job done even you have to make some sacrifices, you can relate to that at some point.
The soundtrack album of this movie is filled with catchy tracks. Mostly appeared in the movie while one or two songs are not included in the album. Vogue by Madonna was played during the iconic Andy's wardrobe transformation. The entire song really has a fashion vibe either you play it in designer's office or fashion event.

I worked for a very well known department store between 1978 and 1981 and believe me this movie is very true to life. The executives who ran the store were skirt chasing jerks - not a one of them were gentlemen. The few women who were in the executive offices were back stabbing and hateful to other people. I hated working there. The store was established in the late 1880's by Lyman S Ayres who ran the store and was a gentleman I've been told. Department stores are very much related to the fashion industry.

I found what you shared intriguing. I looked up Lyman S. Ayres for more information. I found this en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyman_S._Ayres.

@@michellegulden1052 Yes, L S Ayres - the rest of the people who worked in the store, the salesmen and women were wonderful people - the executives up on the 10th floor were NOT. My dad retired from the store from the carpet and oriental rug department in 1986 and he was a very intelligent, kind, nice, gentleman and a top salesman. He met my mother in 1946 and married her in 1948.

Miranda is amazing! 😍😍😍 Firstly: natural beauty, graceful plasticity of movements, honed facial expressions, femininity. Secondly: intelligence, a subtle sense of style. Thirdly: the ability to conduct business and the talent of a leader. So much in one woman! She's a good fairy, not a devil! Because thanks to her ability to conduct business wisely, all employees of the company have a highly paid job. And they appreciate it, unlike the new girl, who whined and grumbled until they explained to her what she was wrong about.

Миранда восхитительна! 😍😍😍 Во первых: природная красота, грациозная пластика движений, отточенная мимика, женственность. Во вторых: интеллект, тонкое чувство стиля. В-третьих: умение вести дела и талант руководителя. Так много и в одной женщине! Она добрая фея, а не дьявол! Так как благодаря её способности мудро вести дела, у всех сотрудников фирмы есть высокооплачиваемая работа. И они это ценят, в отличии от новенькой, которая ныла и ворчала, пока ей не объяснили, в чем она не права.

Watch this movie. She was offered a job in a prestigious fashion company under a tyrant lady boss. She works soooo hard to prove herself and exceed the boss's expectation. At last she realised, her boss can backstep even the most loyal employee in her company by using her. That political for her own and company's growth. At last the young girl, decides to quit the so called prestigious company and walked away with pride. She feels as if she is finally free. And her tyrant lady boss like her attitude of pride.

I knew a woman in the 1968-1970's who was head buyer for the women's fashions. She let me go in fall for the spring clothes? Always 2 seasons ahead I think? It was so long ago now. But I'm thinking we went on a 6 hour drive to a very huge warehouse full of long racks of different styles & types of everyone's fashions for what might be it next year. And she had to guess right.
