I'm an aircraft mechanic who used to auto upholstery for a living, and I've also done a couple of aviation upholstery jobs. It's wild how dumb and simple airplane upholstery is. Things aren't really precise, or contoured, or formed in any way. It's like a sloppy couch cushion. Treating an airplane interior like a car when you're reupholstering it makes the end product feel extremely luxurious and modern.

@bret9741 Жыл бұрын
It’s sad that aviation has become so cost prohibitive. In the 1960’s most middle class American could afford a Cessna 172. Today it’s a sacrifice for upper middle to buy a 4 pax aircraft and keep it hangared, maintained and fueled.
@pmullins1495 Жыл бұрын
Roger that, over". Avionics can double the price of any aircraft (with those awful tiny little knobs, indicators ; switches). 😔
@RainbowManification4 ай бұрын
I don’t know about most middle class Americans, but anyone making 100k equivalent could make it doable and in fact many did. Today you need to make a quarter million a year at least own a fresh 172 from the factory. The number of PPL holders has been in a steady decline since the 90s.
@RainbowManification4 ай бұрын
The LSA category was supposed to somewhat remedy this by providing an entry level into GA with more affordable aircraft. That never happened ,many brand new LSAs now cost almost as much as a factory 172.

Yes its beautiful, but when flying it has major trouble with climate control, so the back either freezes or burns.
