The difference between afternoon tea and high tea

Hi all,
I'm going to explain to you all the specific difference in participating in an afternoon tea and a high tea. I am using my Wedgwood cuckoo set and will go into detail about eating etiquette and what to wear at an afternoon tea.

Great video! Pinkies up came from when people drank from small handle-less teacups (such as the Chinese traditional style) as the pinky up helped balance the cup.

Yes its truly british Alice! Oh I would like to go again. I did go when I was filming the other day but it was just the outside. The interior is so pretty.

Funny enough I was thinking about the origins of Tea time last night. I am from Barbados and I used to enjoy afternoon tea with my great-granny as a child! Now I am on a hunt to find a nice tea set. lol

Hey friend, The memories sound like treasures. What a special thing to remember you can always relive by having afternoon tea today. I always say start with a nice set for yourself and then build on the collection. Before you know it you’ll have a beautiful collection to share.

@@Tamereanbee hey! Yes they have the cutest sets. Some are girly and some are very modern. You’ll enjoy it. Make sure you pick up some loose leaf tea to drink it with. Great start!

Your tea set looks great on that neutral display. Very dainty. Its interesting how all the names for tea started and we oftern say the wrong thing when we are referring to the one type of way to drink tea. I remember when i was younger I would often say we are going to have a tea party if we were having cakes and lunch with our tea.

It’s different for everyone all over the world but when we are referring to the British version usually afternoon tea is the correct phrasing.

Hi dear Melanie, I have used a few different ones in the past to try out which works best. For big teapots I believe I went to T2 and bought a large ball shaped one. Now I have a strainer from Wedgwood that I put on top of the teacup and let the sediment fall into that.

High tea,aaahh yes,noblesse obligeee, our family were of course from the Stickapopple line, wot were exiled to West Offaly on account of a rather ungallant effort to rescue a raspberry that had disappeared down the ample decolletage of an enobled African Lady,yup indeed the ignominy never leaves one !!never !
