Thicker material is much harder to work with, and has less stretch generally speaking, meaning it may require seams where vinyl wouldn’t, meaning more time for installation, hence the additional charge. I also own a wrap company lol

Ppf is usually clear. I think the black ppf is the "new product" because clear ppf has been out for years

Plus repainting is expensive. Ppf keeps your car looking nicer for longer

So the whole point to a wrap is its supposed to be cheaper then repainting the car and allow you to change up the color of the car. The reason you would want it to protect the paint is so if say in 10n years you want to sell it it still looks good thus helping keep some value as with most things if the paint is faded,chipped, or orange peeled people will want to pay less bc it's not in best condition.

No, this is how ita meant to be installed. You want to pull it as tight as you can without tearing it then use the small pad to push air out this allows it to stick to the car better. This stuff is a lot more durable then you would think, if its hit with a rock going down the road let it sit in the sun and it will fix itself and not damage the car ( clearly for you idiots if it's a big rock that dents the car or destroys the wrap it wont fix itself) Idk about ppf but wraps are good for up to 7 or 8 years if you take care of them ie keeping the car clean and inside a garage when not used.

Warranty, you should calculate 1 extra roll for each car that’s gonna get PPF. Like it or not, that’s how business run.

The only use case I see for the ppf is if you can make the paint matte. That’d be cool.

ppf is usually much thicker, so offers better underlying pain protection than vinyl... and in this case it's even better because you also have the vinyl protecting the original paint

Can't really compare the two. PPF heals your paint after getting scratches and stuff, and ceramic coating doesn't let stuff build up on your paint. Just run both, there's ceramics that can be applied onto PPF now

These are two different type of things. You also can’t compare vinyl to PPF. They are intended for entirely different reasons….

Most PPF films has self healing properties. Where it’s not a high impact area, you still do introduce fine scratches to it when washes the vehicle and regular uses. The self healing film get rid of those scratches. There’s always changes rocks are flung up in the air from vehicles..:seldom, but it happens…

I think it’s more so for the sun cooking the paint,but it makes no sense since the car is wrapped

@@Doaclothingco I don’t think the car is wrapped. If you notice the car has matte PPF on it and the roof is still gloss from the original paint. So instead of wrapping the roof in matte PPF, the owner decided to go with gloss black PPF

@@derrickd5 there's vynal wraps that have self healing too. Why would you wrap the roof one of the least likely spots to get hit by a rock and leave the bumper and 2 front quarter panels? There's a reason most people get those parts ppf

Its not about rock chips here. Black vinyl roofs get a lot of sun damage and the PPF has a much higher gloss. Will last much longer and look a lot nicer.
