Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. For the first time, experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. A super cool thing I also noticed is that many of the robes have the option to have the hood up instead of down. It's right next to the appearance option on the robes.

The way they decided to do this is so smart. Instead of having to keep EVERY piece we can just keep the highest and then change the look. For someone who changes their clothes a lot in video games it’s really nice to have all the options there to change into.

i had a low level hat a didnt wanna throw away because i liked how it looked then i found this out, whatever you pick up you can sell or destroy you picked it up[ so it saves to the appearence screen no need to keep a level 5 hat when you level 40! i played the whole game looking like a clown with my favorite low level hat on

The first 35 hours of my gameplay, I did not notice this feature. Coincidently, all the gears I had been getting were pajama themed. I received tons of comments from the town folks and professors 😂 Gotta love the detail in this game.

I still have a hard time selling my gear LOL I’m a hoarder in games. I wish there was an option to store items in a chest (maybe there is and I haven’t gotten to that point yet, but regardless it’d be nice to have that option from the jump).

Always look for the green arrow with clothing to level up and change your appearance with the gear. As simple as that.

This is glamour but 1000x more easy to use! Plus anything that you collected, it stays as a option for your appearance even if you sold or discarded it!!! SOOOOOO FREAKING GOOD!

The thing that really triggered me the most about gear, was that you would have transmogs set up already and then you'd one day find some better gear to wear. The transmog would deactivate, and switch to the appearance of the gear you just equipped. For some stupid reason, transmogs didn't stay activated even while changing gear. I think that was a big flaw for me at least. Sure i could always reactivate it, but after completing the game 4 times, i ultimately waited towards the end of my leveling to start using transmogs because it was just a complete waste of time for me.

Is a well done transmog system such a rarity these days that we have to have it explained? This one of the best i've ever seen. Everything you collect gets automatically saved and you can change anything, anywhere, at any time. It's takes 10 seconds to understand and leaves literally no room for mistakes, the only point of critique i can think of is that you can't save presets or have one apperance set be active all the time without needing to update everytime a piece of gear gets replaced. It's a minor inconvinience thats really not worth crying about.

I actually like the games appearance feature. It's nice having 300 in defense and offense and not looking like an overly eccentric crazy person. Of course my setup is the legendary armor challenge unlock with hogwarts regalia robe the legendary face mask and a red beret with either black dueling gloves, legendary gloves, or regalia gloves. The scarf I usually change to the simple necklace.. may be changing face mask to the duelist mask though after I unlock it. And after I learn avada kedavra may switch scarf to dark arts along with gloves to signify use of dark arts, but not for power or personal gain outside staying alive from the rookwood mafia that no one seems to care about stopping outside a few other students like natty and poppy and sebastion is to wound up in that " gotta save my sister" thing but has a hatred of ranrok, who is with rookwood so there's that..

My biggest complaint with the game (and there are very few) is how this point was never explained in-game, especially when the Gladrags guy explains how to use gear with a little tutorial. I actually had to look up what the heck "appearances" were since I kept getting them as rewards and how to access the dark arts pack we paid extra for. Otherwise I was running around in pajamas and a top hat just for the stats.
