Worship is who you are and praise is what you do. A Christian does not have time for worship because who he/she is every second is worship. Praise is part of worship. What we call the praise and worship team is simply a music team. The Holy Spirit came to fill Believers so that they are in constant worship of God. The condition of your heart determines who you worship NOT what you do. When I am at work I am in worship, when I am eating, whatever I am doing I am in constant worship. Which is why the Bible says that whatever we do, do it as unto to the Lord. Why? because it is worship. Calling the music team the Praise and Worship team relegates worship to an event not a lifestyle. This is why we have Christians who are different people on different days. When worship is a lifestyle, we become consistent and grow in maturity in Christ Jesus.

Taurai Zinyawu I agree with everything that you said except your first two sentences. You can't be worship because worship is something you do. It's an action, a verb. It's like saying that I'm breath because I breathe. No, I'm a human being that breathes just as I'm a worshipper because I worship.

Nope! When Isaac asked his father Abraham where he was taking him Abraham answered his son, we're going to worship the Lord God. So we now knowing clearly what was going to take place tells us that worship is an action of obedience, to perform something. Singing praises can be for instance about the outcome of the performance the blessings of God which is an after effect. You can't be praising or singing of something you know nothing about. That'll be baring false witness.

I believe worship is our lifestyle. Living our life holy, worthy in God's eyes. A life that reflects Jesus. Worship does not end at the end of the worship service at church. Worship happens every single moment that you live your life as a worthy sacrifice for God. Praise on the other hand is a proud declaration of who God is. Thanksgiving with songs and prayers, or even just by sharing your testimony to a friend is a form of praise.

A suggestion to add to the meaning of the two words. Praise could be more of thanking God for what He has done for you and others, for all His works. Worship can be more about realizing who God is or realizing the worthiness of God regardless of the situation you are in. Worship can mean being able to glorify God for who He is no matter the circumstances or the state you are in because you can approach His throne of grace boldly and proclaim things like God is Almighty, Everlasting, Holy, Loving, Unchanging, etc. Praise comes from experience while worship comes from the heart, while both are rooted in the Holy Spirit's guidance. Not sure if that's right or makes sense totally. But yeah, I like the idea of monologue vs. dialogue. Because in the dialogue, you can have a deeper understanding of what it means to worship in truth and in spirit.

l completely agree, this is exactly how l see it too... Great biblical Example is Job; Although his circumstances were not so great (according to the human eye), he still worshipped God because of who he is. He is the creator or heaven and earth, the one who is seated in the highest places, the one whose name is above all names. These things about God do not change, even when we haven't got that job we prayed for, even when we lose a child (like Job)...He is still God!! Blessed day cx

when I worship God he reviews himself to me, he opens my eyes to see beyond this world, and everything about this world becomes meaningless to me, and all I want that moment is to remain with him alone, and above all, when I worship, I don't see difficulty anymore, I feel I can get anything I want cos my father God owns everything. worship is my best moments in this life and even the devil knows it.

I am an elderly person and give my experience. When we praise, we send up a sweet savour unto him with our exaltation of Almighty God and overwhelm him. When we worship, God Almighty himself will decend among us in all HIs glory and overwhelm us. That is why we cry during worship service.Love from all in New Zealand.

Am from the Philippines John 4:24 is the very perfect description concerning to the true worshippers, God seeking those true worshippers. True worship only manifest in us if we do give reverence to the word of God by obeying them and obeying his words became a worship. And absolutely, Don Moen perfectly described praise as we declaring God's marvelous works in ourlives. Again, giving praise to all men is also permitted as we give them acknowledgement for their goodness but only God deserved our worship by our willingness to served him in goodness or in bad times, and believing him that he is the only one true God. It serves also as worship.

I am a part of a worship team for the Glory of God. Here in Philippines, most of the Worship teams always mistaken the difference between praise and worship. We thought that 'praise' is refering to fast or upbeat tempos then in 'worship' is more likely a slower tempos. Thank you Sir Don for this video. Now I understand it more, in a deeper way. The definition of worship is literally to ascribe to God the glory due His Name. Worship focuses on God and responds in awe at Who He Is. Holy, Holy, Holy; How Great Thou Art; O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing.. Focus on the meaning of the words as you sing, and you will gain a deeper appreciation of the Great God of the Universe.

Worship is to lost to our selves and absorb in JESUS CHRIST, it means to say, lost of who we are, not minding what's our profession is, our position, possession, wealth, honor, fame and nobility. Bowing down with deep prostration and adoration before His throne. Praises is giving Him the glory, Thanking Him for everything, acknowledging His mercy that endureth forever with trumpets, clapping and singing. Worship is a posture of bowing down while praise is a posture of standing up with hands raised... in scriptures the word worship is usually preceded by a falling down... "he fell down and worshiped..." in the truest sense worship is the posture of the heart, a bowing of the heart in subjection and humility. While praise is a giving of thanks for what was received. Anybody can praise God but not everyone can worship Him because the 'praiser' gives praise for what he's recieved but the worshiper gives worship even when he has not received anything... eg. Job said though he slay me yet will I trust him (paraphrase)... thatis the disposition of worship. Praise consists of 3 elements: the praiser, the praised and the reason for praise... Worship consist of only one focus: the one being worshipped. A worshiper honours God at all times while a 'praiser' gives praise to God for what he has done. Again worship is a posture of the heart, it refers to a heart which is humble and contrite before God while praise is a position of giving thanks for that which has been received.

I remember, what Vicki Trustrum from New Zealand said (she lived in Hanover and was in the same church as me). She said, that praise leads the church into the temple courtyard, worship leads the church into the Holy of Holies of the Temple. That's a difference, in this definition each Christian band could be able to walk into the courtyard, this can also be done by non christian artists, but for walking into the Holy of Holies you need more qualification, as you can get in music schools. I remember a couple, that leads worship with instruments, one time they did without any music and I had the impression, this way it would be much better, much more intensive. Before I learned about the gifts of the spirit and how close we could come to God, I had another concept of Christian music. When I became Christian, the church where I was, had the concept, that the choir is preaching too, does emphasize the sermon and that the church sings its hymns accomped by a single musician. I thought, that Christian songs may preach the gospel, that praise and worship music makes no sense and that the musical skills counts more, than how a person is related to Christ. When I'm confronted with people, that looks more to musical experience and ability, I can say "that's me 10 years before", because God changed my views and now I prefer praise and worship and look to all the well meaning songs that tries to convince people.

Praise:This is thanking God for what He Has done in our lives, that is why we see mostly during Praise Session People, Rejoice and Jubilate. Worship: This is when we thanking and Appreciating God for who He is.Wheter you are in a good or bad situation you aught always worship God cos you can't pray who you can't worship. You Just have to tell God of How Wonderful,mighty and Awesome he is.

I think it's correct to say that worship is also verbalizing who God is eg. The Almighty, Sovereign Lord, Righteous One, Alpha and Omega, Provider, Protector, Refuge etc. Praise is exalting and thanking Him for all He has done for us. God bless you Don, I love your ministry

Worship is the natural reflex reaction while we are enjoying the presence of God........Praise does more than express enjoyment of, it actually “completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation".........To glorify God by enjoying him forever is the ideal, and it is the eternal destination of all who are in Christ......Any attempt to worship would be a failure if there is no presence of God.....For worship is the natural awe to the presence of God........

I have a lecture on this subject and summarily one of the difference that I saw in my study is that, 'all men can praise the Lord and yes even creation can praise the Lord as the Psalms says, 'let everything that hath breath praise the Lord'. even the trees can..the rocks can but Worship can only be done those who are filled with the Holy Spirit. The Lord says, God is Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Only those who are born of the Spirit or born again has the potential of worshiping God. In short 'unbelievers cannot worship the Lord and yes unbelievers can praise the Lord!

is good hear you talking about the praise and worship using the bible as the best example how to define both, you are one of the best song writer and singer that i have in my songs compilation, I remember you when you came here to my country many years ago in Honduras, I had maybe 6 or 7 tapes of you one of this was your first record in spanish, and I remember when I saw it I knew that god answer one pray that was "let me be part of one concert of Don Moen", and let me tell you that was an incredible first big praise and worship experience, 3 hours blessing the Lord with a pray answered in front of me with all the Integrity music crew,now I have a very big collection of your music, and I see that God has the real word of him in you, a very pure gospel we need in the whole earth people that like to share the real and pure gospel, holding the bible as the source of all the true, thanks brother to share God with all the persons through this Don MoenTV. For me praise is when I am so happy and grateful, it'a a joyful thing. Worship is when I fall on my face before God, realising that without Him I am lost, without Him I am nothing. I realise His majesty and His awesomeness! With a contrite heart.

Simply, worship in from the spirit and in truth revealed by the Holy Spirit. Praise is from the soul which demands the mind and emotions be willed to expressed in songs and adoration of the mouth. Both involved the outward posture of the body towards God.

Praise is thanking God for what he's done such as provision, forgiveness of sins, salvation, redemption, healing, etc. In Praise we dance and clap, etc. Worship is acknowledging who God is, King of Kings and Lord of Lord's, the Great I Am, the Lamb that was slain, Beginning and the End, etc. Worship is a humbling experience in which we bow, kneel, and prostrate, etc.

I also think praise is a proclamation of who God is and expressing gratitude for what He has done. I see worship as an act, in response to this realization of who God is. It can be a song, bowing, giving e.g an offering etc. Think of the Old Testament, where worship was mostly expressed in offering sacrifices.

I'm studying the temple prayer now by Pastor Cho. This is why I'm researching the difference between praise and worship. According to this prayer, by the time we make it to the Holy of Holies, we are ready to worship.

Recently came upon your channel. I have been sincerely blessed. Something you might find interesting is the word worship is an old English contraction of the words "worth"-"ship". Worthy as we know means "condition of being worthy, dignity, glory, distinction, honor, renown," but the word-forming element "-ship" means "quality, condition; act, power, skill; office, position; relation between". I found this definition to be helpful as I worship our God reminding myself why I praise Him

Praise glorifies God for who He is, what He has done, what He is doing and what He is gonna do. Worship adores Him. When you worship God, you're in awe of how great He is. You just admire Him for Who He is. You worship Him because of His Sovereignty and Divinity. As you worship, you admire, you adore, and as you praise, you glorify His Name, testify of His goodness and you boost of Him

Praise - this is our joyful response to the greatness of God's work demonstrate at the cross that we express in celebration,thanksgiving, and prayer. Worship - it is the exaltation and magnification of the person who are the object of Worth-ship that engage our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Psalms 108:1-5 My heart is steadfast, O God! I will sing and make melody with all my being! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. Praise may require mostly our verbal expressions but Worship is deeper. It involves our heart, attitudes, behaviors, responses, etc. Worship is daily or even per second and it is all encompassing. Halleluia

Praise God: means more like " thank him for what he has done". Worship God: worship him for who he is. And yes, he's worthy of our praise and worship.
