This past year we added several new Inca Alstroemeria colors. Here in Michigan most of them are considered annuals, although I will be watching to see if any of them overwinter. Inca Ice has long been a favorite perennial in my garden, so adding more Alstroemeria to my garden was an easy decision. This video was recorded in June. Follow the link below to see the varieties of Inca Alstroemeria we have

I love seeing these plants especially at such a dreary and frigid time of year. I can't even choose a favorite. I hope they return to you.

I hope so too! If not we are growing more this year so I will be able to replant as an annual. They are worth it either way.

Of all the flowers that there are, Alstromerias are my favorite! My area is 7a, and my daughter-in-law has a bunch of all the same colors in her garden! They come back every year and I asked her if she would dig on up and give it to me on my birthday in May. She said. “Sure, just remind me!”

Even here in my zone 10 garden, alstroemerias die down to the ground in summer time. I have four different from the Inca selections that you have and they are just now puffing up and flowering in December.

I did not realize in the higher/warmer zones that they went dormant and come back for the winter. Interesting. Crazy how plants act so different in different zones.

You introduced me to these plants with a video you did not quite a year ago. I believe you have one in your garden that is perennial correct? Is it just in a protected spot that it comes back in your zone? I ordered 2 from you this year and they did very well. I'm now considered a zone 7 up from a 6 so they should come back. I gave them a little extra mulch when they finally gave up in Nov. Excited to see them fill out more this upcoming season. A beautiful no fuss plant.

The one that is in my yard that comes back every year is Inca Ice that is hardy to zone 5/6. Also Inca Joli does well overwintering in my garden, it just doesn't get as big. I will be watching these new ones as many are a zone 8 hardiness. I doubt they will come back, but fingers crossed.

Grew these this past summer in zone 5 b. Grew ok, but not large enough to make an impression in my large borders. I hope that growers bring back for sale, the Alstromerias that in zones 7 and lower, do fantastically well as TALL annuals for summer gardens. These had long stems and tremendous numbers of very long lasting flowers. The older tall ones, never got any pests, and were basically plant and enjoy until end of October each year. Such a beautiful flower should be used more, but I cannot recommend these short ones.

These were quite a bit shorter than the hardier ones. Great color and long blooming, but you are right they are shorter. Right plant for the right place.

I tried Inca Lucky in my Missouri Zone six garden in 2020 but sadly, it didn't make it through the winter. It was full of blooms but only about 12 inches tall. Based on Heidi's success, I planted an Inca Ice this year, 2022, on May 6th. I heaped leaves over it this fall for winter protection and hope it makes it this winter. I hedged my bets this time and ordered it from Heidi, so maybe her green thumb will help!

The Inca Ice is more hardy than Inca Lucky. Hoping you have better luck, I think you may.
