The Different "OR"s in Chinese: 或者 vs 还是

In today’s lesson, you will learn how to say "OR"s in Mandarin Chinese.
或者 (huòzhě) is mostly for statements.
还是 (háishì) is for choosing between alternatives with either-or questions.
A: 妈妈，你要茶还是咖啡？
Mā ma, nǐ yào chá hái shì kā fēi?
Mum, do you want tea or coffee?
B: 我要茶。
Wǒ yào chá.
I want tea.
A: 你要这本杂志还是那本杂志？
Nǐ yào zhè běn zá zhì hái shì nà běn zá zhì?
Do you want this magazine or that magazine?
B: 我要这本杂志。
Wǒ yào zhè běn zá zhì.
I want this magazine.
A: 你要喝什么？
Nǐ yào hē shén me?
What do you want to drink?
B: 牛奶或者咖啡。
Niú nǎi huò zhě kā fēi.
Milk or coffee.

so from the explanation when you make a statement where "or" is used, you use huo4zhe3. Example: I want an orange or an apple = "Wo yao yige chengzi huozhe yige pingguo". Example 2. Do you want orange or apple?, "Ni yao chengzi haishi pingguo?" . I hope this helps you understand how "huozhe" is used

我还没想好穿红色的裤子还是咖啡色的裤子。Here 还是 is used for choosing between alternatives with a negative sentence.

Perhaps another way is to think of this as an embedded question (requiring 还是). For example: 我还没想好: 穿红色的裤子还是咖啡色的裤子? But what I really find unusual is that 想好 (and 想到 and 决定) are negated with 没, although we are taught that verbs of thought or feeling should be negated with 不. For example: "I didn't(!) know that you didn't(!) decide." 我不(!)知道你没(!)决定. I wonder if there are any other verbs of thought or feeling that are negated with 没. And if there is any explanation for not negating with 不.
