Horrorosity channel ....this story reminds me of when I was 12 years old.... i had stayed late at school working on a project!!! Behind the school was a large wooded area ......those woods came out across the street from where we lived!!!! Taking the path in the woods cut 20 minutes off from walking the streets to get home..... so I went up the hill and into the forrest..... as i was walking i kept looking down where the trees grew in abundance....i saw a man dressed all in black.....and his face was black too!!!! For every step i took.....so did he!!!! He was getting closer to me!!!! I knew that he was up to no good!!!! I ran back through the woods and down the hill......then i made my way to the streets that would help to get me home!!!! Running as fast as I could.....i saw him keeping in sight of me from behind the trees........i finally made it home and told my dad!!!! He and my oldest brother went looking for the guy!!!! But never found him!!!! Needless to say I never walked those woods alone again!!!!!! Besides my dad and brother i have never shared this with anyone else!!!!!!!😢😢😢😢

How horrifying that must've been - I'm glad you were able to get away! We lived in the woods, and the schools I went to were just down the paths, too. I was always scared to take them, but I didn't want to add an extra 20-30 min to my walk either. Thankfully, I never experienced what you did. Usually just my brother beating me up for living. Which, at the time, was bad enough.

@@judithlamberti I know that that is something that never leaves your mind, ever, no matter how old you get. And that thought just gets exponentially worse if/ when you have children of your own! I grew up in the 70s/80s, and I often wonder how we made it(?)! Running "wild" from dawn till dusk with the occasional "check-in" call. Going to places where we should've had a hazmat suit, or a hard hat, at least lol! I know that there were many times where we were lucky to have made it home at all, let alone for dinner. And yet, here we are... somehow. ♡

@fracturedangel1835 You are absolutely correct!!!!! We are very lucky to have made it home at times that were questionable......I too grew up in the 70s and 80s.......and boy did I have fun!!!!!! My parents never checked on me.....they believed every story I told them!!!! You are also correct when having kids of your own!!!! I never lied to my kids I let them know how close I came to big trouble!!!!! I did everything I could to make sure that they didn't follow in mommy's footsteps!!!!!!!! Just to let you know.....I really like your style!!!!!!!!! You got the BOOM!!!!!!!!!!

Well "if" this story is real it reminds me of that newspaper boy Johnny something. He was abducted at the age of 12 and was missing for years and one day according to the mother a young man knocked on the door and when she seen him she knew it was Johnny but grown. She said he told her he had been abducted and had been abused and trafficked. He told her he took a big risk to see but he wanted her to know he wasn't dead and was doing ok now to give her some relief from her grief. She said he then was adamant about keeping this a secret . The police are doubtful this event happened though.

Excellent Storytelling, but . . . I was a 13 year old scout in Utah in 1973, and we would have heard about this, believe me. I went to the Deseret News archives between June 9-11, 1973. 3 people drowned, 2 died in car accidents, 1 found dead after a 2 week search who wandered from a mental hospital, but no mention of the missing scout. Loved the fact though, that the storyteller was smart enough to find out if June 8th was a Friday, it was!

Yes, all the stories on this page are very well written. They are all fiction - some of them based on old urban legends of course, but fiction. For example there was no murder of a family named Putnam in Salem Massachusetts in 1926 also. There is a disclaimer on these videos that they are fiction. But very good short fiction.

After reading the 411 books, I don't want anything to do with the woods. We ride motorcycle and pull a tiny pop up camper be hind it. We've traveled from cost to cost and once up to Alaska. A few yrs ago we went to the crash site in Pennsylvania where the 911 terrorists crashed that plane. We left there and rode south, heading toward West Virginia. We camped at an RV park on a wide river. My wife tells the host as we're checking in, that we'd like to be away from other campers, so they stick us at the far end of the park, the last site on the rivers edge and the park rode turned up hill for the upper park sites. Dense forest is at the edge of out camp site, maybe 30 ft away. There is a clear mountain stream running down to the river. I told the wife, it looked like perfect Big Foot habitat. She said," oh knock it off." Well I stayed up till about 11pm looking at FB then you tube. The wife went to sleep at about 9pm. At about 11pm I start to hear wood knocking in the forest. Now had I not read the 411 books, I wouldn't have known about this, but since I did read the books I know what wood knocking means. I didn't get much sleep that night but nothing became of it anyway. That was the first and only time I've heard wood knocking.

Hello Ms. Teresa! I was thinking that too. What about..Stockholm syndrome is it?- where you actually would be able to leave, but you have been with that kidnapper for so long, that you give up on trying to get away? I believe and have seen many things I cannot explain, as have my children (not by choice either) and I thank God, that when we were figuring something's out, those that...started observing is, only seemingly wanted to play with the kids, or do what our kids do during the day, when they play out at night. we have Sas and other beings around us, going on 7 years now. No one goes out alone, day or night, and if someone has togo out, it's me. There have been plenty of times we could have been harmed (again, before we knew what was out there) and have not been, Thankfully. I have been told by others that 5bey believe we are being guarded or protected for some reason...but we cannot figure out why..

He was taken by Gnomes or Elves. They spent their time mostly underground. And they do their "magic" so that's why the victim doesn't run away. Sounds strange maybe. But think of people in a cult. A cult leader can use all sorts of tricks to keep someone under his control. Hypnosis, brainwashing, fear, promising stuff, rewards etcetera. The Fairy (little) people do similar stuff but than multiplied by 10. They can make someone see things that aren't there.

I know these are fictional stories as there is never any information on the internet about the murders, or disappearances of people in these stories. Still if it was real....why would any adult supervisors WAIT through the night before leaving in the morning to go get help? It sounds like they had multiple vehicles....an adult could have driven down the mountain during the night, got to town, rounded up help so that they could get everything they needed to do a search and get back up the mountain to be there before or at dawn, rather than hours later.

@StormyPeak
@StormyPeak 10 ай бұрын
@@petervermeer.4904 I was 10 in 1973, it wasn't like people were 'that' isolated from the world. We had radio, t.v., newspapers, even word of mouth. News of a child gone missing would have been in the papers, and most papers from that era have been or are being archived digitally. And from time to time, local news would do an update on 'that kid, that went missing 5 years ago' and wonder why he didn't write home. :P So there would probably something on the internet, even if it's some blog from some small town historian who recalls the story and has clippings from the papers back then and photos of the person missing. Also, many obituaries were listed back then and are a part of a city/county/state's records. But as I said, these are fictional stories - None of them can be confirmed on the internet with all of it's recourses for looking up names, archived files, or courthouse documents...etc.

I think I’m probably a little older than you, although it’s hard to tell. I’m 68. When I was growing up mostly in Arizona, but a little in New Mexico and finally Colorado, there used to be radio stations, AM stations, that in the evening would broadcast radio hour mystery stories. All the effects were done in the studio as these were usually broadcast live. Most were stories like the one we listened to here. I can remember making several trips to Texas in my ‘68 bug, and I usually traveled in the afternoon and night because it was cooler (no AC in a bug!). The radio stations were usually in central to northern states, so you had to hope that conditions were good for ‘skip’ so you could hear the story. Mostly, as I recall, these were hour long stories. Every now and then I could pick up some of the stations from my house in Colorado, but the same ‘skip’ conditions applied. Usually the stories were broadcast in the late evening, 10 or 11pm. Your comment reminded me of the enjoyment I had growing up. I thought I would pass on some of the ‘good old days’ that I would sure wish were still around so kids today could enjoy them as much as I did. Take care!

No not real. I don’t mean it’s made up. The narrator is likely telling the truth as he remembers it. What happened is #1 a tragedy (the boy was abducted and killed) and #2 the capitalizing on a tragedy (demons often appear as dead victims to perpetuate the false belief that a mysterious soul survives physical death and lurks about. They are master deceivers). In this case it was not death and survival as the method since he never said he was dead but watch the comments carefully and you will see the number of people who suggest this was the case. It’s nearly an ingrained deception at this point. Demons know this

I've seen this story before, and it's one of the most bizarre disappearances I've ever heard of. Who took Jake, where did they take him, why wasn't he able to leave and go home? Is he still out there somewhere? Was that really Jake, or some entity disguised as him? It's all very odd.

If the event in 1995 wasn't an hallucination, it could have been some guy pranking Dakota, someone who knew about the disappearance and who knew that Jake occasionally returned to the spot to fish. Still, it would be hard to know exactly when he would be there and go to the trouble of waiting in the woods in costume to emerge just when Dakota showed up. Conceivably it could be some off-grid character who had heard about the case and just decided to pretend to be Jake when he saw the man at the lake...but how would he recognize the adult Dalota? It's not likely that a 13-year-old kid could have survived twenty years in the woods on his own, or even with some old hermit, without someone knowing about it. IF this story is true, it is weird.

I don't know what the boy scouts do, but in girl scouts we are taught the buddy system. It doesn't matter where you are going or how long you think it will be. If it's even a second, you never go anywhere without your buddy.

Spooky and weird - very disturbing and disconcerting… except I have to say, I find it difficult to believe that a grown adult would freak-out and irresponsibly bolt as is noted in the story… logically, I’d wager most would further pursue their lost friend and simultaneously alert authorities….

Just strictly listening to the facts it also sounds like Dakota could have been responsible for The Disappearance of his friend, and then he creates a later "sighting" to imply he's still alive, but "laying low" to avoid "them". I am not at all suprised to hear that Dakota is now off the grid hiding from some vague threat.

I am sorry, I don't know if it's from his own loss or the psychological guilt of not being able to help his friend, but I don't believe the sighting. If nothing else, I would get other friends to go with me, go armed, whatever was necessary to get my friend out. I don't believe you, and I also don't care. I am, however, sorry for the loss of your friend.
