I’m camping with hubby this weekend and brought the quilt I have been working on. I finished the top all but the quilting. So I wanted to start something else. I watched your video but only had a charm pack to play with. It made a really cute mini block. I think I will make a table runner with them. Thank you for giving us this very easy and pretty star.

This is my favorite video from Missouri star quilt co because I followed Jenny's easy instructions and made a quilt for my mother in law. She loved it so much that she dug out a family heirloom unfinished quilt that her great grandmother had started, her mother had worked on, she had worked on it and she asked me to finish it! A hexagon quilt that spans five generations, can you imagine?

Actually I can imagine an "old" quilt piece. When I first got inspired to quilt, I was leary of all the cutting so I got one of those precut kits, and yes, it was a hexagon! Now I purchased it ages ago from the old Joann's before their expansion into everything crafts and household items. This thing could be 10-20 years old, it has crossed several state lines, and it is still packaged and intact. I guess this is the year it sees completion. Who knows, maybe I'Il alter the usual scheme and come up with something new

That’s awesome! I have one too! My mom named it “Generations”. My great grandmother, great aunt, grandma, and mom worked on it. Mom finished it and I will add an appliqué, then pass it on to my daughter who hand embroiders. Hopefully one of my granddaughters will continue the tradition!

I think I may be related to Glenna in Idaho. I would be sewing along and mine wouldn't look like any of the others in a class, either. I'm glad you came to her rescue. What a great block. Sew easy. Did someone ever say that making a mistake is only our creativity wanting to get out? If not I claim it. Now off to my layer cakes. Thank you Jenny. Love your videos.

Most of my quilts have been made for charity, with the majority of them being for kids. This was the first pattern I made which was not for charity or for a child. My best friend loved it! My tiny secondary hourglasses were not perfect at all, but it was a labor of love and great practice for the second time I make it, which will be now for my elderly aunt. What a fabulous pattern! Thank you, Jenny!

My goodness. Eight years later and this is still an awesome quilt pattern. I decided to use this pattern for my third quilt (yes, I'm a new quilter) and it is turning out so beautiful. All of my blocks are sewn and I'm starting to sew them all together now This has been so easy to make and I'm already looking at other fabric collections to make another one. I think this would look fantastic in a solid color as well. Thank you Jenny and for the lady that made the "mistake" in the beginning to give us this great block.

Hi Jenny, and all the other with you. I just want to let you know that you have made me inspired to make things that I never thought I could do it. I have made 3 purses, and a big bag. First time I watch you was the jelly rolls race, and that was my first project. And now getting ready to make the disappearing hourglass quilt. And yes I am just an beginning person. But with the way you teach is so understandable and easy to do. And also with my hard of hearing, Jenny, I could understand you very well. I want to thank you very much and keep up with the good work!

I am not a traditional quilter at all but, I had to try this. I had the pieces on the design wall while I was working on one of my art quilts. I absolutely loved it as a background. So now instead of making myself a bed quilt it is part of my art quilt. That means that now I have to make a bunch more blocks and buy some more charm packs. Win Win. Thank you

I have been waiting & watching for the "perfect" quilt pattern for my favourite Tanya Whelan Fat Quarter bundles - FOUND IT! Oh my gosh, this looks SO easy and Jenny always manages to show how to do the quilt blocks in such a fun way! ;) Her confidence gives me (a fairly new quilter) the confidence to try out the patterns from MSQC. I showed this video to my hubby and the moment he saw it he asked when was I going to get started on it, lol. I also have a Fat Quarter Bundle in Civil War fabrics that I may use on a second quilt as well. Can't wait to start ~ Thank you MSQC! I'm so excited, and the best part is my cutting time on this will be cut in 1/2 because of my fabric cutting system, so the layer cakes won't take me any time at all to get cut & ready to sew. In fact, I'm going off now to do just that ;D
