Fascinating! This is a very interesting part of the history of astronomy, where the focus expanded from merely observing celestial events and interpreting them as omens, to figuring out the regularities and rules governing the motions in the sky.

There is a description of what they believed to be the path of the sun atound the Earth, but that can barely be called astronomy.
