I make dark humor about it very often because that's one of the coping mechanisms I used to make myself better, even though it's extremely controversial. Everyday in school, I can hear people make jokes about suicide, self harm, depression, etc., and that makes me uncomfortable. I had a friend who post that he will commit suicide and sensitive topics on Instagram. He keeps talking about it in middle of conversations of me and my peers having fun. I cut that person off of my life. I also hate when people use self harm and/or suicide against others. I had an extremely toxic online relationship. My boyfriend threatened me with suicide and self harm. I suffered from that shit for 9 months. I wished I could've take that 9 months back, but it's impossible anyways. I also hate when people make jokes about rape. I used to do that until I realized how fuck up it is after I was sexually assaulted. My friend was joking about how her crush raped her and my other friend was laughing along with her during rehearsals in Orchestra. I felt extremely uncomfortable. What I don't understand is that why. Why won't people understand how serious depression, suicide, and many topics are? Honestly, no matter how many times we speak up about this, no one is going to listen. They'll continue with their behavior and there is no stopping that. For example, racism. No many how many times we speak up on the Black Lives Matter movement, no one is ever going to listen. No one. That's why I never speak up on serious topics that much because how serious this is. People will never going to listen. This is today's society.
