This review and analysis is on point. As a Pagan and autistic person. I have been in therapy since I was a child. As soon as I became verbal my emotions bursted out of me like fireworks. My family set me up with a kind coach/mentor. He helped me through every emotional, mental and spiritual journey. Later my other coach Kari helped me through my substance abuse and depression; she aided me through every single aspect. It isn’t until I was 26 years that I got my diagnosis. Thanks to the kind, thoughtful and supportive mentors I’ve had over the years I’m still here. After seeing Inside Out 2, I did not see Riley’s parents fully present at every turn like they were in the first movie. You can’t learn self-control, awareness, and self of sense without parental or a mentorship guide. Yes, we also learn by watching other’s experiences and behaviors. In order to avoid similar punishments or consequences. Riley’s parental guide probably came through off-screen. When her parents gave her advice and support through every phase. That point in the movie when she pulls herself together she should have been surrounded by her parents or two trusted friends. I would know of this since I’ve tried to off myself various times and every time I had a mentor, my foster mother or a trusted teacher guide me back to the present. Thanks for sharing your take on the movie. I’m looking forward to the next one. 💕💕💕💕
