They ground my drone I stop paying taxes. I'm pretty livid at this legislation and the reasoning behind it. Skydio can go rot. Stefanik can go chew on a lit stick of dynamite. I'm sick of this market manipulation and I'm sick of being a pawn in this STUPID GAME. That's what I think of this possible ban.

The compensation claims are gonna be massive, think about the number of emergency responders with DJI hardware that their goverment will have to replace too.

The concern i have is "if" this some how passes in USA. The chance is (Canada, Australia, New Zealand and UK) will follow not to mention Europe. The question i have is "why" where is the evidence that these are a security , espionage risk? So far ive seen or heard no evidence that DJI is spying or using data without consumer consent. What exactly is the problem? This feels as if there is a hidden agenda. And what compensation or exchange schema will they provide for those who spent thosands on legal goods and taxes after they are told its banned? Will they just legacy all drones from a date and then increase aviation restrictions on legacy drones.. of course they will. Our democracy is broken, its corrupt to the core and you can evidence that through our freedoms being eroded, every year more restrictions. If they came out tomorrow and provided 100% evidence CCP has been using a back door stealing vasts amount of data and images then atleast we have something. But Nadda!

@@srjwari Other videos on the subject have reported that the person trying to push it, is aligned with ex-president (unmentionable garbage heard) and is trying to curry favor with his team to have a job after the next US election, assuming uncle Vladimir and his army of hackers can rig it again. This same senator is also in close co-operation with (one could say 'being financially backed') a US based drone manufacturer that cannot compete with DJI products, so their lobbying is to remove their major competition from a market that has already rejected their low quality and over-priced US made products.

You can't be serious, a paper shredder made in China can scan your documents before they are shredded and transmit the data via satellite without the need for cellular or wifi network! Taking the machine apart will not reveal any evidence of such threats because they Chinese own invisible alien technologies. HAHA.

We all need to band together because if they ban in the U.S there gonna ban in Australia and in my country and follow the lead of the U.S and that gonna sucks for everyone and me. P.S. I don't like any other drones, but DJi. The other drones I've seen on sale don't have the tech like DJI and feels cheap. :(

skydio is a dwarf against the dji. but as i mentioned earlier, u.s. will extort dji by enforcing some kind of partnership and company shares with u.s. based companies (skydio is probably first candidate), so they still can access us/eu markets. this is how "west" is doing business for long time now..

In case you didn’t know you can’t purchase a recreational Skydio drone. Perhaps for government or commercial purposes you can, but not recreational since the halted that business a year ago.

So what about the fact that Skydio pulled out of the recreational drone business a year ago. Not sure I’m all in for this since there won’t be a recreational drone manufacturer for us to use in the US if DJI is prohibited from selling to the US market. Are you referring to commercial and official government use only? Seems like not and that you’re referring to the whole market including recreational. Skydio doesn’t sell to me or any other recreational user any more so that part of your comments seems untrue unless you know something about them planning to re-enter the recreational market.

I would suggest that if DJI owners in Australia, don’t want this coming to them that they contact Skydio and tell them to grow some stones and try competing directly with DJI and leave Australia alone.

When the can't win against DJI in the market they have to use dirty tactics and buy politician to do their dirty work. Listen if you can't compete with another company in the Drone market and bugger off and get out of the market. Like if you can't make a good car than bugger off and start getting into a different market and start building motorcycle to sell. It is that simple.

I just went to Skydio's KZfaq channel to leave a comment to let them know that the drone community are onto them. Guess what, they don't allow comments on their videos. Every DJI customer needs to contact Skydio and inform them that we know what they are doing, and that we will do everything to make their company fails if the DJI ban comes in to effect.

The only Anzu drone I know of is the Raptor and it’s a Mavic 3T Enterprise copy. So even if you could install their firmware and flight software (which I highly doubt) you’re talking about a $ 5K + drone that won’t have DJI care or fly away coverage.

It sucks having to choose between holding off or pulling the trigger on Drone upgrade. On the one hand you might not be able use it after this passes. On the others hand you might have missed out on opportunity buy a drone you could still use had you bought it.

Theyre fcc approved for now. But when this bill goes through the fcc can revoke all fcc authorizations without congress approval due to national security reason. THEY ALL GET GROUNDED.

It's not just the photography / videography businesses that will be affected but the emergency services that use the technology for search and rescue, farming industries will also be affected, as well as other government agencies that use drones for immigration control for example. If they do ban them, just buy outside the USA and take it back to the USA. Problem solved unless you can't register it.

Your drone and associated equipment are "grandfathered" into being approved and legal. Go ahead and get your part 107. More positive than negative to be had on that front, regardless of your equipment.

I'm asking this question again for purposes of greater clarity. Drone Camps Experience stated even already purchased drones will be banned and you cant fly them. You said previously purchased drones would not be affected. Can you clarify? Thanks.

The gov't is trying to ban TikTok and TikTok is still going strong and so will DJI. The FAA wants your drone registration fee's. I predict ALL drones will have to be registered in the future.

Unfortunately the warranty will no longer have value. There is nothing to replace it with if this bill bans all DJI drones from receiving FCC certification.

The bill had a component where there can be a retro active revocation of the FCC approvals, this isn’t just drones it’s any DJI product that transmit. That includes the Ronin gimbals, microphone, DJI transmission, master wheel.

I kind of doubt that’s true with sky Dio since they’ve gotten out of the pro consumer drone market, they are focused on military and search and rescue etc. unless that’s changed.

search and rescue is 90 percent of the dron market in the usa currently dji holds 80 percent of that market of course they want this bill to pass... honestly they could spend their entire company worth just to get the bill pass and wouldn't feel it with every single police station/ fire station in the usa having to buy a new fleet of drones. honestly it one the most corrupt things iv seen in a while. law makers shouldn't be aloud to take donations its inherently corrupt.

The only reason they got out in the first place is because they couldn't compete with the far superior products from DJI. If DJI is out, Skydio will have an opening to come in and try to fill the gap. This is why I'm pretty sure they've been lobbying to ban DJI all along

You say that existing DJI drones will be ok in the US, but if you read the bill (H.R.2864), it doesn't distinguish between new drone sales and existing DJI products. In fact, it doesn't even distinguish between various DJI products. So the way I read H.R.2864, anything made by DJI will be prohibited from using radio frequencies in the US, effectively grounding drones, gimbals, and even your spiffy new DJI backup battery.

As the law and FCC list are worded, all products already approved before February 2023, will still be able to be purchased and flown - if I read it correctly (as a trained lawyer with federal legal experience) However, I am concerned about firmware update Arguably, that's "new." Either way, it is not good.

Current DJI drones are really good, but it's also impressive how far DJI is able to keep going. If you're satisfied with what you have great, but missing out on the latest DJI drones would be a huge bummer.

I’d suggest getting a Mavic 3 (original) and installing the Drone-Hacks firmware, I don’t think it’s possible for the FCC to brick the drone but it might cost you a heavy fine if you’re caught.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a DJI drone from Amazon and it arrived. I enjoyed using it until I heard about the bill a day later. Then I returned it since it might have affected me, and I got a FIMI drone instead from Aliexpress.
