Here’s a tip for any parents who are thinking of getting a pet for their child: make them do a presentation of it. In second grade I wanted a hamster so my mom told me to research about it so I did. I took a big paper and wrote down facts about hamsters, a list of what they need and a bunch of other stuff. It showed that I did my research and was passionate enough to not get sick of a hamster immediately and then we just put that paper above the hamster’s cage.

I did a similar thing when I was 9 and wanted a cockatiel, but the only issue is that I had gotten all my info from a single website and just copied it from there. Turns out that website was a Petsmart website.

a good size for an adult lotl is actually a 40 gallon breeder, because of the amount of waste they produce this size is enough to allow the nitrates to build up for weekly water changes, smaller tanks tend to lead to nitrates to build up faster and therefore more water changes are required :)
@amandaritzau2602
@amandaritzau2602 Жыл бұрын
I agree w this. Also i find w the 40 breeder i can have a better higher flo filter and its a game changer. Im adding a light for my plants on one side where his cave his. Want to add a hammock and get him to utilize the mid part of the tank. Iv had Enchilada for 2 years before next summer i will invest in a chiller, nothing else works in July hes gotten an "infection" both years treatment was the almond leaves and man that stuff works

7:02 I just wanted to say that everything I've heard about plecos potentially eating slime coats, from pleco experts, is that they only do this if they're very hungry. So long as the plecos are well-fed on good quality, appropriate food they are very peaceful and harmless. I would recommend you check out Keeping Catfish for advice on plecos, including specific diet advice for different species. 7:22 Yes, plecos are dirty fish that poop a lot, so that is definietly important to remember. They can have quite a negative effect on water quality if you're not careful about it - make sure you do lots of water testing if you have plecos. They also absolutely need their own food, this is very important. Most need some protein, not just algae, and in fact sole plant-eaters need wood in their diet, and whatever they need, they need more to eat than just some algae in the tank, they need their own food. But plecos are lovely fish, I certainly love keeping them, and they are completely harmless as long as they're well-fed. And it is true that they keep the glass clean, which although messy glass isn't harmful, it certainly doesn't look nice and it's a big bonus to have a fish that cleans it for you. Plus, plecos come in lots of different sizes, depending on the species you get, so you could absolutely find one too big to eat.

No touching axolotl. Lid for tank in case they jump because if they get dry it can wear down slime coat. Ghost jumped so her slime coat got dry. That why she not in tank. When they escape, you need to let them find their own way back to tank or they will die. Ghost lives on land now cuz she didn't like water. Dry slime coat means they won't be able to be water animals anymore.

I am trans, and please shut up. Animals don't have a concept of gender. They most likely cannot have gender dysphoria and even if they can, we would need much higher technology to tell. So it's not harmful to assume animals are cisgender. Can't believe I need to say that. If you think talking about an animal's gender is "harmful to the trans community" please look into some actual problems and don't turn poor Soda into someone who is so afraid of talking about literally anything because yall get offended over something that affects nobody
