【Wakaichi's Expedition】
This time, we went to Tokushima, which is about 2 hours and 30 minutes by car from Osaka! We will investigate two popular spots called "Dochu: The Earth Pillars of Awa" and "Townscape of Udatsu" designated as an Important Traditional Buildings Preservation District!
In fact, "Dochu: The Earth Pillars of Awa" is also called as one of the "Three Great Earth Pillars of the World" along with the earth pillars in Italy and the United States. There was a dynamic scene created by nature.
The "Townscape of Udatsu" (preservation districts for groups of important historical buildings) has a certain historical circumstance behind 430-meter-long townscape known for its building’s symbol called Udatsu, which eventually became the origin of a Japanese idiom phrase “Udatsu ga agaranai” meaning no hope of getting ahead.
