The rising interest rate can surely control inflation, but won't prevent erosion of the eroding purchasing power of the US dollar. I have learnt my lesson this time. The banks can't be making money off my money, while inflation eats into it. I have set aside 650k to invest in the stock market now, since that keeps up with inflation, but I don't know how to get started.

Keeping money in the bank is like paying banks and the Govemment. Here's how it works: The bank gives out your money as loan, and charge interest obviously higher than inflation rate, and then give you, the depositor, interest lower than inflation rate. That means net loss for you. That is why I prefer to invest, and on average, my advisor makes returns that always beats inflation!

People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

It's more about public psychology, and based on the Pareto principle , once 20% of the people and institutions are aware of, using and benefiting from Bitcoin the other 80% will stampede along reflexively, enthusiastically, whether they understand why or not.😅😅😅

I wouldn't assume it's more to do with psychology unless you have evidence for that? A more realstic application for the paretto principle is that 20% of people will create 80% of the barriers to adoption. Or, after the transition, 20% of people will have 80% of all wealth.

Sorry I cannot share all of my evidence with you from a 40 year career in trading in different markets but I can share with you a little anecdote related to us by the widely recognized Warren Buffett who says: “People start being interested in something because it’s going up, not because they understand it or anything else. But the guy next door, who they know is dumber than they are, is getting rich and they aren’t,” he said. “And their spouse is saying can’t you figure it out, too? It is so contagious. So that’s a permanent part of the system.” 😉

At 23:25 Mark states “Bitcoin is the first asset that can have ‘pure velocity’ without debt being added to it.” I’m having a difficult time understanding this assertion in terms of a contrast between fiat, gold or bitcoin in this context. Any help appreciated. My assumption is that considering all three, 1) fiat currency as an asset is by its nature an IOU, so it is a debt owed by the government to the bearer of the cash IOU, 2) gold is a Mable to achieve any significant velocity by the nature of its physical qualities. to make a payment of $1,000,000,000 in gold requires months to settle the transaction by transferring from the pauper’s vault to the payee’s vault, leaving 3) Bitcoin for which conversion from asset to currency in a payment transaction and subsequent payment settlement is as quick as 1 millisecond. If this is Mark’s logic then it makes sense to me. But it does not answer the question: “How does an entrepreneur with no capital and an idea raise capital in a pure bitcoin world?

BTC cannot be used for general commerce due to high fees and slow transfers. lightning network failed. an intermediary would still required. For commerce: XRP > USD > BTC

7:12 Gold worked well as long as it did but was it due to its inflationary schedules/mining or was it deflationary due to transportability hurdles? Fiat is more far transportable and can be inflationary in supply as well but it's governed not by a cap in supply but in a faucet for demand. The system works with the booms and busts but post bailouts....its been no bueno...down hill from here.👎Its the distrust that will take society down, not inflation of it currency supply, for that requires velocity.

Try right now to go and buy a pizza hamburger fill your car with gas even if bitcoin is accepted it is not easily broken down into smaller bits and move from one owner to the other cheaply. BTC is still a peer-to-peer Network. Lightning network is the peer to peer way to use the Bitcoin for small value daily transactions, and it doesn't require you to go through a financial institution.

Try putting $1000.00 dollars in your safe or buy gold and then buy $ 1000.00 dollars of Bitcoin. Hold for 10 years and see what happens. I would be willing to bet you will be able to buy more with the Bitcoin. The error here is Bitcoin is tethered to the lightning network, Dogecoin is not. Dogecoin is better digital commerce money, Bitcoin is digital wealth but it's not as spendable as Dogecoin.

I am not sure a VERY FUNDAMENTAL aspect is ALWAYS OMITTED from global currency and "Petro dollar" talks. Which country is the largest import in the world and for how many years in a row? Global "value of store" should be a basket of top 10 largest IMPORTERs currency. Now, use your pseudo economic professor knowledge head and reason about this fact.

We might quibble about details, but Parker Lewis is essentially correct about gold. Larry Lepard's formulation is the best IMO: gold is analog sound money, and bitcoin is digital sound money. And are we moving into an analog millennium, or a digital millennium?

BTC is infinite. BTC1, BTC 2, BTC 3. doge, pepa, btc, they are all the same. DOGE > BTC because DOGE is cheaper and does everything BTC can do.

Quite stupid. Dollar is the reserve asset of the world. All other currencies are weaker and riskier right now. Just like at Euro, Yen, pound and Yuan! The whole world needs dollars. Would you trade the dollar for the Yuan or the Euro?
