10 ай бұрынThis video is Part 4 of our holiday to Lake Garda, Italy in June 2023.
In this video we go on a coach trip to The Dolomites.
The Dolomites are a World Heritage Site in North East Italy.
The coach trip is from Malcesine and heads North East to the Fassa Valley in the Dolomites region.
From the Fassa Valley we head to the Pordoi Pass where we take the cable car up to Sass Pordoi.
At an altitude of 2950m (9678ft) it is known as " The Terrace of The Dolomites" and has spectacular views in all directions including a superb view of Marmolada, the highest mountain in the Dolomites at a height of 3343m.
After spending some time taking in the views we descend back to the Pordoi Pass in the Cable Car and return to the Coach for the journey back to Lake Garda.

I loved the contrast between the lush green meadows at the beginning of your video and then the snowy mountains! Stunning. Some really beautiful shots there. There are not enough superlatives to describe it. Many thanks for sharing. All the best.

Hi Peter, thanks. It was a great trip with stunning scenery and fantastic views. The views from the mountains looking over The Dolomites are some of the best views we have ever seen. I only wished I had taken more footage from the coach as we were driving there as the scenery was spectacular. A great trip which will live long in our memories. Hi there guys, wonderful video. The Dolomites are a spectacular mountain range, and quite unique in their appearance, you could certainly never get them mixed up with any other range. That looked a fantastic trip. I bet you took a lot of photos. Haha Thanks for sharing your day, Cheers Dave.

Fantastic views Eddie. Some of the rock formations remind me a little bit of parts of the Grand Canyon. The views where Carol stood by the cross were absolutely mind-blowing. Did they supply parachutes on the cable car ha ha!

Hi David, thanks. It was a great part of our holiday. The scenery and views were some of the best we have ever seen We thought the same as you about the comparison with the Grand Canyon. We went to the Grand Canyon a few years back and some of the views at the Dolomites were reminding us of the Grand Canyon. Where Carol stood next to the big cross was spectacular, with some sudden drops, we definitely had to be careful. The cable car going up and coming back down was great with fantastic views. Wonderful scenery from 'the get go' here Eddie......another one of those death-defying cable-car journeys 😬 too. Crikey nearly 11,000ft at its highest point, would take days to trek that from sea-level, incredible views throughout mate. You bagged some cracking photos to look back on........the snow just adds to the drama. Butt clenching descent on the cable-car lol..............another fantastic video Eddie..........ATB...........Stu/Wendy.....👍👍👌👌

Hi Stu, thanks. It was a great trip and a day that we will remember for a long time! The Dolomites are stunning, the views and scenery are probably the best we have ever seen. The cable car was great with cracking views on the way up and going back down, although I did hear that someone on the trip was sitting on the floor of the cable car as they couldn't face looking out of the windows! Wow Eddie, that was something special! I'm sure you were well pleased with the trip. Even the views from the bus were spectacular. The Cable Car looked a bit hairy but I'm sure it was very safe - the view coming down was extraordinary. The whole landscape at the top was so unique, totally different to the Alps or the Rockies, and the visibility you got was perfect. Not a lot of health and safety at the top! I'd have been shouting at Andrea every 5 seconds to get back from the edge! But you got incredible views and photos - I'm sure you were well chuffed. Nice to see a trig point up there too but my favourite view was the one of Carol standing beneath the cross. I'm really looking forward to your Venice video!! Regards, Ashley

Hi Ashley, thanks. It was a great trip with spectacular scenery and stunning views. I wished I had taken more footage from the bus as the scenery was stunning all the way, but it is difficult trying to get footage from a moving bus. The cable car was great with breath taking views going up and coming back down. The views from the top were some of the best we have ever seen. There was a lot of sudden drops so care was needed when walking around near the edges. The views near the big cross were fantastic. We had a great day, but only wished we could have stayed longer. Hi Eddie, Great scenery. We are going to Malcesine next May and are looking to do an excursion to the Dolomites. I assume it was cold hence do you recommend a fleece/soft shell and long trousers?

Hi Andy, The Dolomites was a great trip and well worth doing. It is a fairly long day but worth it as the scenery is stunning. There was great scenery heading through the Dolomites area on the coach but did not film much from the coach. I would definitely recommend wearing a fleece & long trousers as it was cold when we went in mid June so I would think it would be cooler again, when you go in May.
