Oh my … thank you this personal account of some major sounds of my generation… thank you Ray

I had the honor or meeting Ray backstage in Chicago in 2011. I was star struck. Ray was standing there and no one had noticed him yet since he walked into the area a little bit after Robby who had already been chatting it up with fans. Ray looked at me and said “heey” in an enthusiastic way you would say to an old friend you had not seen in years. Such a cool guy, he just had a way to make you feel welcomed. The first thing out of my mouth was “thank you Ray”. It was a thank you for everything he had ever done such as interviews like this. I could listen to Ray speak for hours.

Ray Manzarek was an absolute genius.
