What a great speaker was Ray. Even today in 2022 it gave me goosebumps to here his acceptance speech. The Doors one of the greatest 60’d bands. 🔥

There were a lot of great bands in the history of rock music...I don't know and I don't care which was the best,the greatest, or the most loved one...but THE DOORS was by far the most different, strange and unique band of all times for me...a class of their own...there will not be another band like them ever...thanks for the memories JIM,RAY,JOHN and ROBBIE...

The greatest rock band in my opinion! I was a little girl when they blasted onto the scen and my older brothers would play their jams! The Doors: Amazing, innovative, creative, funky, multitalented, and soulful as hell! RIP Jim and Ray!

The Doors have been my favorite band since the 70’s! I was born in 66 and 27 years later they got inducted into the Rock and Roll HOF.now 27 years later I still love The Doors and I finally get to see this! Pretty cool!!! RIP Jim and Ray!

Eddie Vedder conjuring up his Inner Jim Morrison is magnificent. The Doors created a sound that is instantly recognizable and yet very few (perhaps The Stranglers?) have ever been able to replicate.

Ray was just the coolest of guys. You couldn't help but love him. I remember reading his book. When he talked about how did the key boards in this song or that one he would often put into parenthesis "practice practice practice"

John Densmore was once asked who his choice to sing would be if the Doors ever did a reunion show like Pink Floyd Did for Live 8. Without hesitation he said Eddie Vedder. Sadly with the passing of Ray Manzarek, that will never happen!

Grew up with this band and the memories from the music at that time was my escape. At the age of 13 living in NY with my parents mom would say"you really like that music"?? It was 1968 and "The Doors" were my band. I will be 69 this year and the "Doors" still do it for me when I just want to "escape with my own thoughts". What Ray said about 1967 was spot on. We have come to a different place in our lives today...it is sad we still have much to learn about loving each other and respecting each other no matter what color we are. Peace to you who remember the way it use to be. ✌😉

Wow! Doors have always been in their own world! One of the greatest bands ever. They had the vibe of the 60's in their souls! Plus they play my favorite song ever! " Light My Fire " I believe was number one for at least 6 weeks!

damn this was really good ! i know eddie vedder couldn't show up to rehearsal so he messed up a bit but honestly his knowledge of "dead cats, dead rats" and the "bum bum bum bum" part on " light my fire" (which was probably learned by listening to absolutely live and live at the hollywood bowl) amazed me! he did a great job considering he didn't have much practise.

i was lucky enough to see Ray and Robbie perform together in 2012 in Austria. The Doors were one of the first bands that introduced me to the magic of music and to actually witness these guys playing together was one of the best experiences of my life. Ray introduced the band members by calling them a „Love Machine“ while playing the keys to the intro of Touch me concluding the introduction by introducing himself to the audience saying „and i‘m Ray Manzarek and i am a Love Machine!“ one year later he passed away and i will be forever grateful to have witnessed these men playing together and unfolding their magic. I just had broken up with my girl back then. i was shattered to the ground and they came and lifted me back up again when i needed it the most. Thank you Ray and rest in love. ✌️

90's Pearl Jam/ Vedder fan here, I remember this gig very well. I downloaded songs/Mp3's from Napster late 90's and listened to the songs a million times. Morrison's father, George, was an Admiral in the Navy, and oversaw naval operations during the Gulf of Tonkin incident that led to the US war in Vietnam. According to his obituary, he was once the youngest Admiral in the nation's fleet. As a young man, he was also stationed in Pearl Harbor at the time of the bombing in 1941.

I am blessed to have seen you 3,and Jim Morrison, live, at the University of Michigan on Oct 20th, 1967. The worst concert in the world, turned into the greatest concert in the century. I think that the nineties were really like the sixties. In a musical sense especially. The Doors, MC5 made the first beam of the bridge that was finished in the nineties. I was born in 1992. in Croatia and I have only gratitude for The Doors who really helped me in my dark alleys of life. Bless to everyone reading this! The sixties and the ninties were an echo of Romanticism. From Shelley, Byron, Chateaubriand all the way to Morirson. We must continue the groove of that melody, continue to break, break on through the other side!

My favorite band since I was 12 years old and discovered my brothers best of doors album part 1 & 2. I played that album over and over. If i had one wish it would have been to been alive for the 60s and the 70s and to have seen the Doors live.

45 now... was about 16 when I seriously got into The Doors... amazing band who will see out the test of time. Love Eddie, but he isn't Jim, but did a good job all the same. The way the band can go off and bring it all back together again is truly remarkable. True graats of their craft.

DAM !!! THAT MADE ME CRY !!! I LOVE THE DOORS

I was lucky enough to attend a Krieger/Manzarek concert a few years ago in Rome. I went there with a lot of skepticism, because I didn't think you could make Doors music with a replacement for Jim. It was one of the best concerts of my life. The singer who replaced him was a perfect copy of Morrison, in voice and look, and was kept in skilful twilight by the lights. The illusion was perfect. The two of them were unleashed, although Manzarek was already ill, it was wonderful. And it had its original red Farfisa. It was REALLY an unforgettable evening.
